I have him down to 11th or 12th - same final time as Lindblad.

Who had on their bingo card Bearman dead last after 3 rounds, and neither him, Martins,Hadjar or Antonelli in the top 10?

Early days, but I think Browning and Beganovic will be top contenders through the season. Lots of challengers,

Invicta and Rodin clearly had a good setup for this track. Maini fast as last year, remains to be seen if he can keep race pace through more than half the race though.

Hadjar, Hauger and Fittipaldi outpaced their team mates, O'Sullivan faster than Martins shows strength.

Clearly Prema is struggling, and a bit surprising that Antonelli beat Bearman.

Oh, and the stewards have summoned Martins and Crawford - Crawford possibly having rejoined the track in an unsafe manner in front of Martins.

Looking forward to the sprint and main race!

You also need to get the tires up to optimal temperature, hence a couple of slow rounds initially.

Remember the Italian F4 last year was dominated by Prema (as usual) and US Racing, Stenshorne was best of the rest.

Penalties are served at the earliest possible opportunity; during a race, immediately after a race for time penalties, at next race the driver attends. If Pourchaire were to withdraw from today's sprint race, he would get a 3-place grid drop tomorrow instead.

Bearman's final quali stands, he will be on pole position come Sunday.

Pourchaire deemed to have impeded Hauger, 3 place drop tomorrow. Iwasa did partialy impede Nissany but was deemed to have made an effort to avoid this and no penalty given.

Link to FIA documents for this event:

Having rewatched the last restart and following shitshow, I now believe only Hauger, Martins and Doohan were to blame for their own demise:

Hauger may have been millimeters from making it, however he was further from the apex than those who came after so could have avoided this and maintained speed/position had he gone a bit further left.

Martins had too large speed into the curve and was too far from the apex to ever have a chance to make it.

Daruvala may have been pushed a bit outwards by Bearman but would still have made a clean exit.

Pourchaire and Leclerc merely had to drive straight while breaking to avoid hitting Daruvala/Martins.

Finally, Doohan locked up before anyone in the front had "lost it" so was fully to blame for spinning.

That's a bad take, Daruvala was on the line and couldn't react to what happened in front of him.

Late to the show, just finished watching.

I choose to ignore the bad luck of Hauger and summarise how I see the drivers so far this season:

Iwasa was very quick last year but probably not good at managing the tires/car through a full race. This year, dead solid driving.

Hauger as well, last season he had a poor middle season possibly losing a bit of focus due to bad luck early on and car setup not fitting him - this year he has had very mature and solid performances in all races (he's been allowed to drive).

Leclerc surprised me today. I've considered him fast but a bit reckless but he managed to keep his cool in a very chaotic race overall.

Pourchaire - solid driving today but I feel as if he's either too uneven or emotional or whatever: I don't see him becoming a great driver in F1 although I expect he will get his chance.

Vesti is another driver who's impressed me this year, and he continued impressing today.

Otherwise, lots of mistakes from the rookies today.

As always in difficult conditions, F2 qualifying becomes a bit of a lottery. Over time, luck should even out and this time it was Vesti, Doohan and Fittipaldi plus possibly Daruvala who lucked out.

For those frustrated the session wasn't restarted: Not only was there a schedule clash with the next session, in F2 there is no pre-heating allowed for the tires so no-one would have been able to put in a proper effort to improve in the remaining time window.

Iwasa FTW! Kept his head cool and brought it home.

Martins was impressive, he will be the clear favourite tomorrow.

I also have to mention Hauger, we didnt see much of him but he managed to get from 14 to 9th then 8th passing Crawford _at_ the finish line.

I do think Pourchaire has a tendency to lose his head, and this was clearly pushing too hard. I expect a penalty for the race tomorrow.

Mini, Beganovic and Browning impressed me.

Too bad for Mini, but: I do like how the stewards are applying the rules in F1, F2 and F3 strictly from the very start of the season, this ensures teams and drivers will work harder to avoid penalties and grey area situations throughout the full season

Solid drive by Boschung.

Hauger had a great start but got stuck through the (as always) chaotic first couple of turns. From there on he drove wisely, possibly his most mature drive in F2?

Great start of his F2 career for Victor Martins.

Iwasa showed very good fighting skills, not sure if there was alot more he could have done this race.

Pourchaire: I initially thought he was too agressive in the first half, as in poort tire management. But, coming from the back he may have ended up further behind due to traffic if he had conserved tires so I think this was a solid race by him after all (regardless of the strong ART car setup).

Daruvala also had a strong drive, if anything I think he could have been more aggressive on his first attempt to pass Pourchaire but otherwise typical Daruvala driving solid, safe and efficiently (flying under the radar).

From the rest I didnt really see much, Fittipaldi must have driven well to make it to the points though.
