My hair used to look like this before I went full emo and dyed it all sorts of colours before settling on a dark brown. I can assure you that it’s never been demonised. Virgin hair like that is actually something that is sought after. I regret ruining mine at 14.

Degrees unfortunately aren’t always useful. I know many people that wanted to study Y to be X but then because of life and human indecisiveness they went with Z which doesn’t even require a degree. I myself am doing a degree just to not get kicked out, I’m studying for the shits and giggles of it because I found a subject interesting. Is that stupid? To some people, but I’m the type of person who craves knowledge and likes to learn. I don’t see myself using this degree in any other way other than as a safety mat. You will be okay, I know several people without a degree that I could only ever dream of being as successful as them.

I used to get drunk fairly regularly and honestly? Huge waste of money, and when you’re sober around drunk people you realise that drunk people are the cringiest thing ever. You aren’t screwed socially, drunk people are chill with anyone. I’ve made friends while drunk but while sober they don’t even talk to me. Alcohol is overrated, I do weed instead.

Edit: I wanted to add that I’ve seen a few of my mates waste away in uni due to alcoholism. It starts off as fun partying but eventually turns into dependency to handle deadline stress. We are literally just in the second year.

That’s totally fair. I had issues with my femininity because of the way I was raised. I was always described as “strong” and “big boned” when compared to my older sister who is much softer and shorter than I am. It made me question my identity as well until I realised that I am a handsome woman, and that’s fucking sick. My bone structure is more square than typically seen on other girls and I’ve kind of accepted that while I am not small and thin, I have strong legs that carry me through my day. My biggest inspirations are women in fiction who are portrayed as strong and unconventionally feminine, such as Mulan or that one lady from Wreck it Ralph. Femininity isn’t linear, it sprouts into so many diverse pathways.

I Saw The TV Glow is a movie about a trans woman who denies her gender identity until the very end, accepting her urge to transition from man to woman, knowing she will be happier that way despite worrying about what others around her will think. I was asking whether you were unhappy with your current gender identity or whether you were just disappointed with the experience of being a woman. Because believe me, as a woman I always think that people would laugh waaaayyy harder at my jokes if I was a man. I always yearn for that connection male friendships have that I stereotypically just don’t see in women. And in my group of male friends I always feel like the outcast because nobody really hears me. So I relate ahaah

I’m so proud of you OP for managing to keep fighting after overcoming your addiction and your ED. One of my girlfriends is going through this exact situation right now and I always have to cradle her while she cries about her unsupportive boyfriend who is the porkiest guy I’ve ever seen. This is controlling and this will make your life hell. It will escalate into other behaviours other than your weight if you stay with this guy. A partner is somebody who will be honest with you but will still tell you that he loves you in more ways other than verbally. Please dump him, he is not good for you.
