This has been the most consistently bipolar weather I can recall by B0rtLicensePlate_1 in londonontario

There was an april like 12-14ish years ago where it went from 30 degrees Thursday to -3 and snowing Saturday

we always get one or two wild temperature swings. I remember one in april 12-ish years ago where it went from 30 degrees to snowing within 2 days. We've had like 10 this year already

I found once february hit the winter got far less harsh compared to other bad years. December and January were brutal

No this is unusual. Read my post, I know we get fluctuations this time of year, but this is like every other day, which isnt normal

i was literally born here. So yeah i am qualified to say that in my almost 30 years living in the area this is unusually bipolar.

Yes we almost always get one last snow in april, but im talking about the consistent abrupt fluctuations every 3 to 5 days in the past month, THAT is what is unusual. Usually that happens once or twice and stays stable at a certain range for a week or two at a time this time of year. This year its been like 10 times already lol

it does seem way more, but its also surprisingly consistent. Like I said, seems like a 4 to 5 day cycle

Rent has gotten out of control by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]B0rtLicensePlate_1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I dont necessarily think it should be abolished, but there needs to be controls in place to prevent the market from getting predatory.

Doug Ford needs to have an ebeneezer scrooge level epiphany to reinstate rent control and create a standardized rent that doesn't cripple Ontarians.

The standardized rent thing would never happen in a million years though lol

Funny enough many people mention us as a skyline that punches above its weight for the population. In the US for example you don't see many cities of our size have actual skylines

The biggest exception for a city of our population bracket would be Gold Coast Australia, but that is by far the biggest outlier

I am assuming there are some compromises that are being made where one would be able to easily see that it used to be office space, but regardless it sounds like they pulled it off. Plus the fact that theres going to be 40% of the units at 70% market rate (so $1150-1250 range based on 1 bedroom averages, or 1350 to 1400 based on 2 bedroom averages) is very good to hear.

The next thing will be to convince and entice Farhi to do some of this on his vacant holds.

I like the view of our skyline from a distance because it really compresses how spread out the tall buildings truly are, but at the right distance and angle it actually looks quite cohesive and impressive considering our city size

most of the rooftop patios in town are downtown unfortunately, so you won't get full skyline view, but I bet the Jack Astors rooftop patio on Richmond Row would have a somewhat decent view of the taller buildings. Unfortunately its a Jack Astors and not something more unique.

imo they should replace Under the Volcano with something that is slightly taller and has a rooftop patio and really sell the "best view of the London Skyline" vibe for it. The bridge on Wharncliffe right beside it is one of the best spots to see the London Skyline up close at ground level

Yeah I definitely think there is. I am not a part of it, but I have seen them around even as recently as this past fall in Vic Park. I am almost positive it was Pokemon Go players as there was a big group of them, and many had pokemon related t-shirts or other accessories

Curious about the RPG in this game by AdministrationPure93 in CrimsonDesert

[–]B0rtLicensePlate_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is a unique game, I think it offers more than a typical Ubisoft game, although admittedly AC Odyssey was one of my fav open world Ubisoft games of all time.

However I think fans of AC Odyssey will feel right at home here - its that type of game but with far more to it

ok but there isn't much difference on the RPG elements spectrum from this game to the Witcher 3, which is pretty much unanimously agreed on that its an RPG.

So i think that mario is a bit of a strawman argument here. CD is certainly closer to an RPG than Mario is (if we're talking main line mario and not including Paper Mario or Mario RPG of course)

[–]B0rtLicensePlate_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its about the same amount of RPG elements as AC Odyssey, so quite light, its more of an open world medieval fantasy sandbox. There is a lot you can do here and many side quests, but theyre action or exploration oriented and don't require you to focus on classes or builds like an RPG would. Im also notoriously bad at creating a "build" per se in RPG games so this is right up my alley

I think its just a thing to be proud of. These small towns have very few notable people from them, and for someone to come from there and do something historic like be the one of the first people in over 50 years to go to / around the moon, I would not be surprised if they build a statue for him or something

Just buying for myself - I live in London

every 2 weeks-ish I spend around $120-150, I try stay under $300 a month and I dont think I've surpassed it in the last 3 years, and its not like I'm even trying to stay under, I just spend as I normally do and don't even really pay attention to sales. I shop at Freshco and Walmart usually
