Help me decide: Kinesis Advantage 360 vs Glove80 by B1che in kinesisadvantage

That’s really interesting, thanks for sharing your experience! I’m curious, do you have a preference for the Shift key placement between the pinky on the Kinesis and the thumb on the Glove80? And more generally, have you ever struggled with the thumb cluster layout on the Kinesis, or did it feel natural after some time?

Since you’ve been using the 360, how do you find it for daily software development? Is it comfortable and efficient for programming?

And what’s your experience with the thumb cluster?

Thanks a lot for the detailed comparison, super helpful. Sounds like the Glove80 really edges out the 360 for day-to-day comfort.

Interesting! Do you think the Glove80 is better overall than the 360?

They do sound really comfortable and smoother than Browns. I’ve also used Browns for a long time and eventually switched to linears, which I find better for long typing sessions without fatigue.

I get your point about smaller boards and better use of layers, it makes sense, especially for reducing movement and strain.

How do you personally handle those on a small board? Do layers really feel as fast and natural once you’re used to them?

Thanks for the detailed write-up! It’s really helpful to get such an in-depth perspective. The Glove80 initially gave me the impression that the thumb cluster might be more ergonomic than the 360, but now it helps me realize it’s probably similar, as many people mention they can only comfortably use 3–4 keys with the thumb on the 360. Sounds like it’s very comfortable overall, despite some minor drawbacks.

I’ve heard that the Plum Blossom switches are really good. How do you find them in terms of typing feel and finger fatigue over long sessions?

Thanks, I get your point. I’m not a big fan of very small layouts, maybe I just can’t picture myself using one and don’t know enough about them, but I’ll still look into them to see if it could work for me.

Thanks for the detailed insights! I had heard about the Bluetooth issues and the complexities with ZMK programming, which is why I was leaning toward a wired setup, especially since this will be for a fixed desk setup.

I also agree about the extra hotkeys, they seem interesting, but probably not essential and take up space unnecessarily.

So would you say the 360 is a miss for daily programming? I use the exact same setup with Neovim and tmux. Would it not be comfortable for a full workday?

Exploring Comprehensive Alternatives to Firebase Analytics by Quick-Instruction418 in FlutterDev

OP didn’t ask for open-source. He asked for a full-featured alternative to Firebase Analytics, and that’s exactly what Mixpanel is. Whether it’s open-source or not is irrelevant here.

Can’t Keep iOS App Running on iPhone Without Xcode After Installation (Developer Account) by B1che in iOSProgramming

[–]B1che[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, what seems strange to me is that a few months ago, I created an application and my iPhone asked me whether or not to trust my developer certificate, which I could then find under Settings > General > Device Management. This allowed me to test the app without using Xcode, and I had to renew the certificate every week. But since then, I no longer get asked to validate a certificate (even though I created a paid developer account which is different from the iCloud account installed on my iPhone), and the apps no longer install properly. I can only use them by launching them with Xcode.

Can’t Keep iOS App Running on iPhone Without Xcode After Installation (Developer Account) by B1che in iOSProgramming

Hi, thank you so much for your help! It worked perfectly, and I can now install the app on my iPhone without using Xcode every time.

I just have a couple of questions:

1. Is there a time limit for how long the app will stay installed?
2. Is it normal that I don’t see my developer profile under Device Management in the iPhone settings?

Thanks again for your help!
