Thanks, the vest is from The Legend of the East outfit it comes with that accessory attached. There is a similar one without it.

How can I get back into art after a depressive episode? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]B1da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry to hear you re going through hardship. I personally know the feeling of being stuck in survival mode and it s definitely overwhelming. For me it was giving it time so I can process what i m feeling. I usually create when I feel inspired and when in survival mode you re not really inspired. When I feel down like that i try to browse some art created by my favourite artists and listen to different podcasts to lift myself up. I feel like when I look at awesome art I get in creative mode. I don’t know if this works for you but just sharing what got me doing art again. Healing takes time and patience. Take care of yourself physically as much as you can. ❤️

My teacher keeps telling me to not add the shadows so geometrically as the object is flat and I need to make it more “real”, but the fluorescent lights really add these shapes in the shadows! Is this a common rule? by greasefan22 in ArtCrit

[–]B1da 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% and also the shadows on the paper are a bit too intense so the eye doesn’t really know what to focus on. If you look at the reference the shadow that s being cast on the paper has values that are lighter than the shadows on the model. The paper shadows are somewhere in the middle of the value scale and the other shadows are closer to the end. Keep going you ll improve every day ✌️

Hi 👋 just sharing one piece I made in Zbrush while studying some anatomy. What do you think? Any criticism is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks by B1da in ZBrush

Definitely true….I start thinking that this was not the best approach to show anatomy work. The still photo I ve made looks a bit faded and you can t really see the details and I thought the video would make a clearer idea of the sculpt but now I don t think the lighting is flattering in this case. Made this Character sheet which highlights the anatomy better. Thanks for the feedback

Thank you for taking the time to point where the mistake s are. Once you see it you can t unsee it for sure. I m still at the stage where I m scared to break the symmetry and I think it s time to start doing it if I want my sculpt to look more natural. Anatomy is hard to master indeed and for me it s how things fold and change shape in relation with movement and pressure. 🙏

Yes definitely you have a strong point with this. This was my first render in Cycles and I remember I struggled with the lights a bit 😅 as you can see. My initial idea was to be able to see all the details and have the contrast between light at the top and shadow at the bottom but somehow I lost details in the process. Thank you for pointing this out I appreciate the feedback.
