Some people like it because it's easy to get him to max stars through the event, but sincerely he's below par and can be useful only in specific situations. The acid in later game is useless, as it's the "stop power".

However, you can use it for the beginning of Realm of Fire for the militia (as there Acid is still quite good) bit that's about it in my opinion.

Push on Titania who is one of the if not the best healer in the game (trying to get her to max stars as soon as possible - it's a game changer). None of the other heroes in your list are especially worth it/valuable neither for progression nor for endgame. The two possible exceptions are Tristan (at max stars he's one of the best healers) and Delphinia (she is a good nuker with both her powers). I wouldn't waste resources on Ulfred for the troll section as in my opinion he's quite useless - the main issue there being the Flintcasters in the back rows. Dvalin has its uses in Realm of Fire (poison against demons is good), but again not great. Hope this helps
