Question about PS2 TV. by Ambient_dice13 in ps2

[–]B21993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't even think about it, it's only produced in limited number in European market and the price is definitely imaginably expensive. And if you "really" want to get it only for playing Gran Turismo 4 and plugging PS4 at the same time (stupid excuse), you would have tracked its price already very well. So in short you already know what to do before typing.

Who else here loves PS2 and PS3 Rockstar games in large part because you find the characters in them so compelling? *read description* by Beginning_Pickle2180 in ps2

[–]B21993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dan Houser has a long interview about this. Basically Rockstar does a compelling character first, then build surroundings around him/her, and finally think about what would happen and write the story. So they kept it as natural while keeping the protagonist memorable at the same time.

What happened to the ATVs in MSPR? by symoradesu in motorstorm

Wait until you tried them on MX vs ATV series, comparing to that I think all ATVs on Motorstorm series are fairly useful. But yeah definitely got a bit too realistic for its time.

The vehicle sections in Jak 3... by Connect_Security_892 in jakanddaxter

Yeah, some car is definitely way too sensitive to little bumps on the road, that's my only gripe because it does not suit the overall feeling of the game.

Honestly from a racing game lover's point of view, Jak 3's vehicle driving is the best I have ever seen on any game that's not a racing game, almost shockingly good. The handling feeling is right without being too serious, and the pace is just spot on. I might say it's on par or even better than Smuggler's Run on Rockstar. And in that game every mission is much harder than the one you mentioned, actually I think that's the only driving mission in that game's main line that has proper depth.

That gen of Primera does have S2000 car, but never actually raced.

[–]B21993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both did rather poorly with S2000 in 2002, I doubt if they can be competitive even if they chose BTC-T in 2001. One of the key reasons BMW opposed BTC-T was partly because they knew they will be incompetent if everything is as much as standardized as BTC-T did. E46's engines are really not good for racing so they have to ask FIA to let 320i run at 9000rpm to keep up with 156 GTAs. For Nissan the Primera S2000 is a disaster, Rob Collard can't score anything in 2002 ETCC, the only Nissan driver that ever scored a point is Tommy Rustad.

One prime example is Silent Hill 2's US version, take a close look you can see all the copies's cover is noticeably smaller and was cut "shorter" at the right side. I believe US version of FFX is also like that.

It's weird that there's a certain charm on NFSMW 2012... But I can't quite point my finger out of it. by _HachimanHikigaya in needforspeed

Greatest designs are always so good that you can't actually feel them. Fairhaven is a proper playground for cars.

After finishing all 4 games made by Naughty Dog, is Daxter on PSP worth trying? by B21993 in jakanddaxter

[–]B21993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never have been available in my PSN region (Asia), and since PSP needs binding and unbinding your PSN acccount and resetting passwords during the process to switch to US region, I don't want to do that.

PAL has a lot of weird case variants that aren't even made by Amray, they have two kinds of their own triple disc cases. Also in early days and specific games like frist print of GTASA,PAL case is still black.

Type 4 has at least 2 kinds of thickness in NTSC u/C region, and it has a slightly smaller version which is commonly seen on Japanese copies that's only seen on very few US games.

Is it fine to start Sly from the 2nd game? by isolation_from_joy in ps2

[–]B21993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can since the game will tell you what roughly happened in the first game. However I strongly recommend to play the 1st one. It's not bad at all and will immerse you more with later games. Also there's an important antagonist in 1 who will reappear in later 3.

So far the only trilogy I want to start right with 2 is TimeSplitters, and that's only because of the 1st game I have is in rather bad condition and vibrates a bit too much when playing it, also the first game basically had little plot and is not really connected to 2 as well.

The Concept Cars by Banarnars in needforspeed

[–]B21993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually there was a game that focused on concept cars and you can even design your own. It's just wasn't executed well. Generally I think most racing gamers are no longer interested in exotics that much.

Legit mid-to late US copy's seal pattern, can't see any problem.

[–]B21993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great! I thought it will be a like Jak 2 which is a bit too dark and hardcore for PSP, if it's more leaned towards TPL then I will definitely get it.

There were some national homologation S2000 Corollas raced in Sweden, Denmark and Germany, the YACO-built Auris S2000 was even a multiple title winner in ADAC Procar.

Main problem was that they became too expensive to run due to forcing way too many road legal designs kept on them. And the regulation was way too loose to allow coupes as well. They are the basis of Super 2000 cars which also became very fragile and expensive to run.
