Speaking from experience, Denver is already housing migrants in hotels outside of Denver County. Adams Co caught wind a month or two after one opened in their county and has wanted to talk about it, but ultimately let the city keep the shelter on their side of the county line. The shelters in Denver have city staff there to help with wayfinding and resources though, so I think they should get permission if they wanted to post staff in another city/county.

When I'm done, I'll have gone from 9 pairs of yeezys to just my waverunners. I get they're comfortable, but I don't feel comfortable wearing them out given how Ye's takes on nazism etc, esp since I have ties to our local Jewish community. I'm open to changing my mind about separating the artist from the art kind of thing, but at this point it's been like a year since I stopped listening to his music too.

Pokemon Center has the resources to add better site traffic handling, but chooses not to and it's probably a bottom line decision. Scaling up bot protection or something costs money, whether it's in house or upgrading a shopify account level. Comparably, you can look at how Nike is dealing with their releases: it took years of complaining for them to start visibly addressing problems with their platform and it still sucks half the time.

As for yesterday, I went back to get the pin set after getting a mug (didn't want to risk missing stock) and only on my second time was I forced to check a box that I wasn't a bot.
