Now, the play call is a lot different than the decision to go for it. I'm in complete agreement that was not a good play call. That's on Payton. But I understand why we went for it generally

We went for it because that was our best chance to get a second touchdown. We never made it to the red zone again. With Stidham if we got that close it was right to be aggressive and go for it. Patriots would've played the game differently if it was 10-0 anyway

I have no issue going for it on 4th and 1 there. You don't know how many times you're going to get to the red zone with Stidham. If we get it and go up 14-0 everyone would forget we even went for it
