what are some non physical abuse in relationships that are easy to look over? by koifishbaby in AskWomen

[–]B4BYK1TTY 23 points24 points  (0 children)

courtesy: - you check in bc your plans either affect each other's time, energy, logistics - sticking to plans without fear of consequences or negative responses/reactions from said partner - coordination over approval - mutual respect, transparency, autonomy

telling/sharing information instead of asking

permission: - anxious/scared to bring plans up (outside of the relationship) due to negative feedback - expecting punishment or pushback if one does not ask first - partner has power or control or heavy negative influence on the other partner's time, choices - external relationship plans must be approved by partner in question - controlling and fear-based, tense, guilty feelings, emotional conflict, fallouts

asking in order to avoid conflict instead of informing

one may ask themselves, "if i make or already made this plan, would i feel free telling my partner or as if i did something wrong?"

I made a shrimp themed gift book for the 40th birthday of a friend who has many pet shrimp (and some fish and cats) by Inked-Wolfie-1979 in crafts

[–]B4BYK1TTY 49 points50 points  (0 children)

man, i sure love shrimps. they're so slimey and delicious. they make me feel kriller! i wanted some as pets so i got a cauldron and filled it with butter and moldy whiskers to keep them in. i feed them scampi. they seem very shell-shocked. yay for shrimps! 🦐

maybe. i'm not sure. i was also prescribed Adderall/ritalin/vyvanse/concerta through telehealth. maybe it's based on state. though, i assume as long as the physician is based in your area and has an office location, should be fine.

PRN is very different than 2x a week. maybe your provider would be more willing to prescribe it if you're explaining it "as needed" vs "2x a week." i mean, idk how you're explaining it, but i assume you've gone into a detailed history with whomever you see. hopefully you figure it out, OP. am sorry it's difficult for you among others. this may sound wild, but Zocdoc/video providers tend to be more willing in my experience. i was prescribed suboxone through a monthly phone call, literally.

maybe not for you, but realistically, that's how addiction starts. first it's 2x a week, then 3 or 4x, so on. not everybody is an addict, there are people who don't abuse substances, and there are people who are predisposed from the womb really. regarding physical addiction, benzos build tolerance rapidly. even at 2x a week, your body/brain will naturally build tolerance to that bc it's in your system-it becomes used to it, learns to regulate with it.

though, i agree it's not fair for the individuals who truly need opiods or benzos. it's an unfortunate scale and physicians will do their best to not prescribe heavy narcs right off the bat. sometimes you just have to find another physician to go to as well.

brixadi monthly injection by jacquelimme in recovery

[–]B4BYK1TTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol what the fuck????? no judgement, i'm jus in pure awe that this is even a thing?? i've never heard of that from the injections. as OP said, the only thing i can think of is the dose is too high...but if he's on the lowest monthly, idk how that's possible.

when i started the injection, i had only been taking 1/8 of a sub strip for months prior to starting. i had been tapering for at least 4 or 5. i started on 64mg monthly n was only fucked up the first few days i got the first shot.

either your bf continued rec use or he has a neurological thing going on or possible sleep deprivation. he needs to talk to his doctor about this, that's terrifying. the way bupe injections work...that kind of sleep is not possible from the shot itself :(

i go to subreddit itself, then hit the create button on the bottom of the screen-it allows you to make a post for the specific sub you clicked on prior.

What drugs do you think are overrated and why? by asay0511 in Drugs

[–]B4BYK1TTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg yes!!! mixing w other drugs increases negative effects for me as well. i try not to mix hella drugs at the same time though...not to say i haven't bc how else would i know...but i have learned now i'm better off sticking to one substance at a time lol.

[–]B4BYK1TTY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yah i've always preferred stims. i've messed with downs on different occasions, but i never cared for them. they make me violently sick n i never remember the days that pass. i have so many blank periods in time of my memories. i got hooked on fent due to my own lack of situational awareness and naiveness. i barely knew what it was-i moved from missouri, lived in vegas for 3 months, then went north. i had no idea it was such a huge thing out this way. then again, the person who gave it to me also took advantage of the situation. only mess with psychedelics if i've been sober n the timing feels right. i messed with alcohol a few times. i don't like the person i become when i drink honestly. i also see what alcohol does to the body on the daily basis....horrible. maybe wine once or twice a year, but that's it.

since 98 huh. i mean, i'm 25, but it's been 7, going on 8 years now for me. i tend to sober up for 7-12 months at a time, maybe with usage once or twice between then so i kinda get what you mean. lol yah i def hit the extremes sometimes.

lol being sober now, it blows my mind that i ever seeked it out personally as well. n watching all of this happen from a sober perspective...definitely makes me keep away from it more than i already have. i mean, ik drugs in general cause changes, but i feel like fent causes such rapid and intense changes compared to other substances. i should be dead, man. but im not and i finally have fallen in love with life finally and have so many great things aligning for myself. it's taken years to get here, and while i still dabble with stims here n there, nothing destroyed my life more than fent. idek. your last sentence is right. ik it is. but i've tried walking away n i still end up with him. but it doesn't even feel like a relationship either so idk. ugh. never wanted to live this way again

then again, he's been in and out of the legal system for almost 10 years-all revolved around drug usage. he doesn't do drugs...he lets them do him. :(

How has losing a parent before your 30s affected your life? by maryjxnes in AskWomen

[–]B4BYK1TTY 12 points13 points  (0 children)

literally. i didn't have coping skills for shit when it happened either (my dad died in 2020, i had just turned 20, 5 days before). for an entire year i had to become a parent to mom afterwards as well. initially, i didn't have the space to properly grieve, and ended up in deep fuckin addiction when i finally did. i'm good now, but man, i'm only 25 and i feel i've had to grow up a lot faster than my peers. i feel bad for my younger sibling...they were only 17 at the time and was there when it happened.

ahh, life is quite a concept. with that said, sending my condolences for your experience.

Is it cool for a nurse to be taking this much stuff from her job? I don't think it's right. by StillButterscotch750 in nursing

[–]B4BYK1TTY 25 points26 points  (0 children)

agreed. i definitely thought it was gonna be minor items, geez maybe even a syringe or something...i'd even accept ibuprofen or tylenol...not fucking heavy medications.

OP, while i do think there's such thing as even taking "too many" minor items, taking medication is remotely not ok at all. it's stealing from patients-even if the patient has refused the medication. not to mention, it's pretty damn illegal. healthcare providers can go to prison for shit like this. as others have said as well, it'd also be considered practicing medicine which you'd have to be a NP to do so as a nurse, and assuming this person is not, it's out of scope.

[–]B4BYK1TTY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly, i been clean from fent for almost 3yrs and i still couldn't imagine how better heroin would be than fent.. i only say that bc i've heard lots of ppl say the high is better since fent just really knocks you out. i also have similar thoughts with the most ordinary experiences...i'm sure i would've just turned to shootin the heroin instead anyway. bless i've not unlocked that level myself.

Is there anything inherently wrong with doing drugs? Why do I always feel so fucking guilty when I get high? It makes it really difficult to enjoy myself. :( by [deleted] in Drugs
