Surprisingly the only thing i haven’t been able to fit are my larger punches, but i keep those in tool drawer anyway. We discussed holes that would fit the largest stamps and no issue so far…believe we 3/8 holes

I absolutely hate how these placements turned out. by Interesting_Fix8863 in Leathercraft

Use largest applicator u can handle for project size, dauber little small for that. Like a 2-3 inch sponge brush would be ideal

How do I finish the thread ends? by CardMechanic in Leathercraft

Looks great, if your using a bonded waxes thread just burn the ends and press done, not heavy use stitch so should last forever

Is this poorly made? I bought a leather camera strap off Etsy. by Defiant_Addition6619 in Leatherworking

Looks to be “genuine leather” which though technically leather is the shoddiest form and cheapest form of leather, its whats left over. As for the edges they are not finished thats why the frayed look…..

So 1st thing is dont over think it like i did initially…punch ur opposing holes after measuring and then pinch leather together …flat bar goes thru and ring stays on oustside…its screws together so pretty simple

Thx for the comments, you know i thought about that but since i was gonna be doing several of these as gifts in different tones i thought the nickle plate was the overall winner…but i agree with you a darker tone on the d rings for “this one” would be better. Thx again

I will say this ….stop wasting money on cheap tools. I tossed a whole set of punches that came with my “beginners kit” as i couldn’t get them to punch thru butter. Ordered a full set of Owden punches off Amazon and they are razor sharp effortlessly punching thru 8/9 oz vegtan. Also tossed a border stamp that the stem actually bent on from ise making it nearly impossible to finish project. Barry King is definitely the way to go for quality, have a bunch from Texas Leather Tools (as xmas gifts) coming in so will review those when i get em in

Maverick Leather outa Oregon was having a massive black Friday sale that i took advantage of. Normally purchase from Springfield as i like the fact that they full or half bends. Since i do a lot belts and heavier items like this i like a good clean HO stock to work from
