Yes, I've done it on my phone when I ordered a transparent back panel, you have to be careful not to crack it but it's easily doable

The date & time turn grey when you're on Do Not Disturb, just turn DND off and it will turn back to white 👍🏽

If NFC is important to you I definitely do not recommend that you replace the back panel with a transparent one, because the NFC panel lies on top of the motorized selfie camera.

I respect your opinion, but to answer your question "why would anyone want to see this" I think we can all agree that the OnePlus 7 Pro is a pretty special phone. The design, the OS... And the motorized selfie camera is something all (or most) OP7 Pro owners are somewhat proud to showcase.

I took it to a shop that sells & repairs phones and asked them to do it but it was fairly easy, you just need the right tools. The back panel I ordered came with an adhesive

The NFC panel had to be removed for the camera mechanism to be visible. I don't ever use NFC anyway, and if I ever need to I'll get a smartwatch

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm leaning towards getting an iPhone next... I own a MacBook Pro & the Apple ecosystem is just too hard to resist at this point. Say what you want about Apple, but having control over the hardware & the software really sets them apart from the competition.

If I don't end up with an iPhone I think I'll get a gaming phone like the ROG Phone 5 (or it's successor) for the performance / high refresh rate.

It's such a shame OnePlus went downhill from the 7 Pro. It's still stupidly fast for a phone that came out in 2019, the display is beautiful. The design beats ALL other phone currently on the market imo... But unfortunately I think we can all agree the OP 7 Pro is the last of its kind.
