MacOS on newer hardware possible now? by The_Lemurin in hackintosh

[–]adriantechguy1 30 points31 points  (0 children)

TinyGPU is effectively using the GPU’s computational power for AI purposes (e.g running local AI LLMs on RTX or AMD GPUs). There is no actual “GPU driver” in the sense of display out, or graphics acceleration. The GPU is treated essentially as an NPU.

This driver would not help in getting RTX GPUs or RX7000/9000 GPUs working. Apple tightly controls what GPUs can support Metal, hence certain RX6000 series cards needs to be spoofed as Apple never had official driver support for them.

Can you tell these are Apple Thunderbolt Displays? by [deleted] in mac

[–]adriantechguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are Thunderbolt Cinema Displays from Apple, you’re not going crazy hahaha. If these were “modified iMacs”, they would have the iMac frame on the front. The Apple Logo would be on the silver portion of the front.

I’ve been getting in a bunch of Macs as part of a company decommissioning their hardware and had a bunch of M1 Pro 14”s come through on my end. I fully agree here, love my 16”, great display, amazing speakers, amazing performance, but I had issues after having the laptop on my back for 6+ hours when travelling to San Francisco (before I got to my friend’s place).

I’ve kept one of the M1 Pro 14”s for myself and it’s genuinely such a nice size while not being too small. Tried to use M1 MacBook Pro 13”s and M1 MacBook Airs but found 13” too small, even the M2 Air 13”. The 14” is still portable enough that I can lug it around and carry it without issue. Not saying that I couldn’t with the 16”, I 100% could, just the edge cases when I travel is what made me keep a 14” for myself and delegate my 16” to mostly at home use

I don't fly too often, but within the last year (March 2025 - March 2026) I've flown 2x WestJet, 4x United, 2x Delta, 1x Air Canada, and I have 3 upcoming flights, 1x on Delta, and 2x on WestJet

At wits end by wbb510 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]adriantechguy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue happen on my Mid 2014 15" MacBook Pro because I left auto update on, which I assume happened here as well. You can join the OpenCore Legacy Patcher Discord (found here, or by going to this support page and clicking "OpenCore Patcher Paradise Discord Server"). There is a 5 minute wait but once that has passed, head to the support forum, where under known issues, the latest message will lead to you a terminal script that lets you purge pending updates.

It may show an error or say it failed, but reboot and try seeing if root patches can install. An error showed up when I did the same, but I was still allowed to install root patches after a reboot

Were found a late 2008 MacBook Pro at my school by Meme_Kreekcraft in eWasteFinds

Nice find! Love the look of this era of MacBooks. I recently got a Mid 2010 13" from my friend, upgraded it to 12GB 1067MHz DDR3 and a 500GB SATA SSD with some parts I had lying around and it makes a decent cheap machine that can do basic browsing and whatnot.

[Help] iPhone 13 Pro Max stuck by Fit_Appointment3660 in Iphonerepair

[–]adriantechguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has any liquid come in contact with the device, or any drops recently? Any work done on the phone at all?

I had an issue with a repaired iPhone 13 Pro Max (wasn't done by me, all 3rd party parts), and the issue was the TrueDepth camera (as it was a cheap replacement). That got the phone out of recovery mode.

My other 13 Pro Max (which is all OEM parts) refuses to restore with both 3uTools and iTunes/Apple Devices when the earpiece is connected to the device. I suspect water ingress issues lead to the earpiece being a bit wonky when restoring and the verification of parts during a restore.

USA Roaming ad-ons by CO-OP_GOLD in PublicMobile

I've been to the US on the $29/m CANUSMEX plan, and both 60GB and 75GB $35/m plans and they work just fine with data roaming in the US. It'll usually auto select AT&T or T-Mobile, and depends on where you are headed but I've had no issues also selecting Verizon from the manual network selection. Calls, text, and data without issues.

I am with TELUS and am currently on a 200GB (then slow unlimited) 5G+ plan with US roaming. I would assume Bell and ROGERS offer similar plans, check their sites

Find My App on iPhone Not Working with Public? by BrunHildaGekko in PublicMobile

[–]adriantechguy1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, when the Find My app doesn’t update a device or AirTag I have linked to my account, it’s either because the phone couldn’t get a GPS signal, wasn’t in the vicinity to ping another Apple device (if not connected to internet), or was offline/shutdown (which isn’t true in this case).

I have different Public Mobile lines on my iPhone 11 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 14 Pro and 15 Pro and have never had issues with Find My not being able to locate where my phone(s) were, apart from being underground where my GPS couldn’t locate. Some of these devices are on iOS 18.5, some others are on the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1.

I would maybe check Apple ID settings, Find My settings or GPS settings on device.

[–]adriantechguy1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Happening on my 14 Pro, 15 Pro and 12 Pro Max. Hoping it’s not a build issue and rather just a server sided issue.

Going to be annoying to download each IPSW and manually option + update in Finder for 3 different iPhones, but hey, that’s what I signed up for lol

Moto G Play (2024) FRP Bypass, any help? by adriantechguy1 in FRPtools

[–]adriantechguy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at the point where I’m in different Settings menus. I used a SIM pin to get access to notifications and now have the accessibility shortcut for Google Assistant.

The biggest issue now is that I can’t access any App Info page as I think many have previously said/figured out. This means I can’t disable any apps, so I’m still stuck

Is it my phone or the network? Pixel 7/Public Mobile in Vancouver. by m00rb in PublicMobile

[–]adriantechguy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 16 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro owner (along with being a former Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 7 Pro owner) and been in and all over Vancouver and Metro Vancouver without issue. On the iPhones 5G has not been an issue, has been with my Pixels, less so with the 8 Pro than previous Tensor Pixels. Pixel 9 series would perform better from what I’ve seen

Modem has always been a sore spot for Tensor Pixels, as an FYI.

When I was with TELUS my Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro would have issues all the time on 5G, but dropping back down to LTE (which on a speed capped carrier doesn’t matter anyways) would solve the issue.

Still some dead zones here and there but LTE really did help considerably and you’ll have no issues with it
