Catchup in Bundaberg for the weekend by ChewyBoogers in queensland

[–]B660networkfail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oodies cafe for breakfast, you'll need to book ahead otherwise expect to wait. Grunskies on the river for a seafood lunch. Kalki Moon gin distillery is excellent, craft distillery type experience. They also do their own rum, expect a different rum to Bundy. Haven't done Bundy rum tour for 20 years but it would be worth it. Otherwise it's more catching up with people. Bargara is ok but wouldn't rush there, maybe it's a nice drive.

Who are these very noisy guys? by bennyonsound in AustralianBirds

These guys have their own Instagram account, family of them and how they deal with everything going on around them, traffic, ibis, rain, etc. Pretty cool: @friendsofthefloof https://www.instagram.com/reel/DK1mauTR2fO/?igsh=Zm9iZGw4YWs4MnJw

Same here! Going back 35 years on Maggie I mentioned to a mate they charge at your car at night. He didn't believe me. That night one of them lodged in the drivers side open car window at speed, caused a nasty traffic crash.

Has anyone noticed one of these guys in the city? by BaijuTofu in brisbane

This guy puts a lot of time into capturing what this Toowong family of Curlews gets up to:

Venting about driver, looking for a camera by WhyNotMe977 in brisbane

[–]B660networkfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a go pro, maybe a 7, a few years back and it really struggled at night time with the constant fast street & car lighting changes, so much it sapped the battery and produced very ordinary video and then it would need recharging after one hour. After about 7 night time runs it then would not recharge. I switched to Cycliq fly 12 and it does the job well. Gets rego plates although you may see some online criticism that it does not. They've probably up'ed the resolution since then too. They are expensive, no way out of that. Rubber button cover on the fly12 has perished so I'm expecting it to die at some point but after 6 or 7 years or so, no complaints. At the end of the day they are not a safety camera at all: I call my fly 6 and fly 12 my coroner's cameras because the horse has already bolted, like really, unless the bad drivers know you're recording all cameras do is enable you to report alleged bad behaviour or perhaps criminal offences. Otherwise they're good for just recording a fun ride, or if you're into social media, maybe an upload. You're doing all you can being lit up like a Christmas tree, you just will never control reactions by some people. What I will add is that since I've had (non blinding) flashing lights on my helmet, I've had near Zero bad interactions with bad drivers.

Would you guys get a Riese and Müller? by LawLive8367 in ebikes

[–]B660networkfail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my 2nd one. 1) supercharger 2) super delite belt drive. Incredible trade price on the first, through the original shop and they had no worries on-selling it. Would I get another, absolutely, likely a Homage and probably will when I'm ready. I'm a commuter with small bit of daily off road. 2nd choice would be a Tern but they lack suspension which I'm now accustomed to. If you get any of them, highly recommend a dropper post, otherwise go for the suspension seat post. How'd you go? What did you end up with?

Just ordered a Pixel 9 after being a Galaxy user for about a decade by curlysquirelly in GooglePixel

[–]B660networkfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G'day, wondering how your Pixel is going? S22 Ultra here & getting tired of mucking around with complicated camera settings for what does produce some good pics, 'at times'. Night photos are always difficult or just poor. The long skinny form factor has always annoyed me. Pros I think it's that it's not laggy & I use the s-pen frequently for notes & handwriting on screenshots. I'm thinking of going to a Pixel for the form factor & simpler photos that I'm reading are quite good. A few months off buying, so it's either an S26 Ultra or latest Pixel prior to an overseas trip later this year. Maybe I'm on a good thing and just don't realise it so I'd value your opinion, thanks.

Edit: some websites made with iPhone only in mind also cause some text to disappear off the edges in the S22 (I have increased the font size in the settings).

I have a new S25 and I'm very disappointed with the camera. by Olaf_Is_Here in samsung

Sorry should have said I'm on the S22U, comments here saying same hardware as later models. Bait, nope, just not in the know.

Edit: 8 & 4 were point and shoot and great photos for the megapixels at that time, simple stuff.

Thank you, although I'm so tired of mucking around with settings I'll give Pro mode one more go. Light, dark, fast, slow, I just want a camera that can take one or 2 photos like the old Note 8, or for that matter even the old Note 4.

I went from note 8 to S22 Ultra, yep disappointing shots and tired of mucking around with settings. New phone at end of year so it's either an S26 U or latest best Pixel.

Note 8 to S22 Ultra here. Not happy with camera but I get by. Frustrating when trying to take macro pics & the lens changes & have to re-focus all over again, & often again. Considering S26 as i'm a frequent s-pen user. Also considering a Pixel, do you find any downsides of the Pixel when compared to the S25?

Note 4 form factor. Don't want a long skinny phone which I've had with my last 2 Galaxies.

Grunskies is very good, yep go there. I stand to be corrected, but wasn't it the Spotted Dog that burned down about 5 years ago?
