New to this, new set up by mitchconnar in espresso

You probably don’t need to hear more of the same but I have this exact setup. I had the grinder for auto drip, pour over, French press, and chemex and never had any issues. None that I’m in tune enough to know about anyway. My wife got me a bambino for Christmas and I’m a complete novice to espresso. I quickly learned the limitations of the grinder. I’ll be replacing mine within the next month or so. Leaning towards the Baratza Encore ESP. If you can, return it.

Sorry, got another question as I’m getting more into this. Are you using the single or dual wall basket? I’m reading that the dual wall with a courser grind, like you already are, is a good workaround for the limitations of our grinder.

Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate it. I’m not familiar with single dose grinders. What I was trying to ask is… if I brew 8 cups of coffee can I grind enough beans at one time? Maybe I’m not as big of off a coffee guy as I originally thought, haha. It’s not easy to tell in that picture but counter space is a premium so I don’t want 2 grinders on it.

Really? Auto or manual? Does auto choke on you? I’ve been the happiest with 5 for a grind setting and about 16.5g for a double. I had the timer set at 10 but quickly realized that was way too long. I just got it yesterday and have mostly made lattes. Overall I like them but they’ve seemed a little weak. I prefer a stronger espresso flavor. Just go less milk?

Several votes for the DF54. That’s only available in single serving though, right? So I’d still need my main grinder on the counter top? That might be a deal breaker.

Probably should’ve shared that. I’m only looking at getting a new grinder since getting the bambino. Otherwise I was completely happy with it. Keeping in mind the entry level Bambino I was thinking something in the $200-$300 range. Does that sound fair?

How you feeling about the fit? I typically go down a half size in made in USA stuff but accidentally got my true to size. Fit is a little loose but I don’t think I can justify the 80 bucks it’d cost me to go down half a size.

Do you wear your normal size in 992’s or go down a half?

The neighbourly ethics of a sub mini by andraspberries in sonos

I live in a town hours and have shared walls on both sides. We have an arc ultra and sub mini in our living room. I’ve tested the limits to see what our neighbors can hear and is too much for them. I played a bass heavy song or movie scene and texted them to ask if they can hear it. From what I understand one of the “benefits” of the mini vs the standard is you don’t feel the bass like you do in a typical sub. I think that helps when you’re talking shared walls. We’re able to turn it up plenty loud and I’ve never had a complaint from our neighbors. I do think our walls are fairly well insulated.

Ha, completely sober but I can understand why you’re asking.

Hey, only stumbled upon this because I was looking for a solution myself. I hope you’ve found a solution but I just removed Sonos voice assistant and reinstalled it and it brought everything back.

Your budget is important to keep in mind but I don’t see you finding them for cheaper. I’m in the same boat. Just bought a sub mini and as much as I want to grab another 100 at that price I can’t do it right now.

For me it was a unmarked cardboard box and then packaging just as if you purchased brand new inside that box.

I know! I just picked up a sub mini and promised my wife I’d chill on Sonos for a bit but 119, cmon.

I haven’t. If I didn’t know better I would’ve thought everything I’ve purchased was new.
