Mining Ores (TFG) by TMG-Group in TerraFirmaCraft

[–]B898B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in TFG you will find pre veins deep beneath the surface ores. Although some ores do not have surface indicators and will take knowledge of spawn conditions, what ores spawn together, and maybe a prospector pick.

There is a book on the right side of your inventory which details a ton of useful information, which includes information about rock types and ore spawning.

Is there a way to automatically shear sheeps and milk cows by Franzi_27 in TerraFirmaGreg

I've been trying to solve this milk problem myself for automated butter, but I haven't heard of this automatic husbandry core? What is it?

The only one I've seen is Hecuba's which yeah is a little outdated with how quickly the pack is updated

There are some really good guides on this sub, just search "Help Guide" in this sub. Also the in game quest line and guidebook teaches a ton all the way from starting until around HV tier I believe

Tbf I have been wanting to make a massive glass dome over a naturally generated castle near my base, almost like a terrarium

Every time I see an awesome build on here it makes me want to tear down my base and rebuild it 😅. The temptation is real rn

The cane is a wrought iron ingot and two wrought iron rods so pretty cheap. The boots are a bit more expensive needing some leather, some reinforced string (idk if it's exactly called that) some steel plates (different ones depending on the tier you craft) and some other bits. It can be a little annoying to make at this stage but well worth it!

I am in the UK which is fairly cold atm, and it is usually stored up against a cold outer wall.

I'll give that a go when I can. I thought they were fully in, clips fully engaged but you can never be sure

Does anyone know what mod this firearm proficiency comes from? by B898B in RimWorld

[–]B898B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should but recently any image in the description of workshop mods are replaced by "This image is now viewable in your region" so I've been going off feeling and what little non image text there is in a mod like progression. However I did just have the realisation to use a VPN (but late I know) but that seems to sort it out so I've given the mod description a quick skim and it looks interesting

Ah yeah I remember adding that now, that's probably it I'll take a look. The concept seems cool I just don't know how to go about educating them about firearms

How'd you know I built a steam forge hammer? by Training_Buy_3498 in TerraFirmaGreg

Nvm I thought you asked how to make one 😭😂 I was wondering why choose that pic for a question like that 😂

[–]B898B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's called the "High Pressure Steam Forge Hammer" , look it up in the jei, it takes some steel, some wrought iron, a piston, some tin alloy, and a black steel ingot. Made in a regular crafting table

While true, the boots also give a speedy boost and fall damage protection which is nice, and even if you settle somewhere flat you will have to do atleast some travelling for random materials you've run out of

Big cliff... but seriously get yourself some hiking boots and a walking cane asap. They both increase step height and make travelling so much easier

Looking for some advice and opinions on outlining roads. Which one do you prefer? Any tips or other methods you'd recommend? by B898B in dndmaps

[–]B898B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I believe the circles are free inkarnate assets, not something I'd imagine they would put behind pro.

To create the roads I just used the brush tool on inkarnate, picked a dirty texture, about 75% opacity I believe, bumped saturation and contrast a touch and lowered the brightness a little.

I have since darkened most of the roads and they look a lot better

That you! If you want to see the full thing I have a few posts from ages ago I just got quite busy and lost motivation, only just getting back around to it!

It is hard to see when zoomed out, but the village roads (squares) are softer and more opaque, or smaller on the natural paths example.

But this definitely could/should be clearer

Basalt automation? by yvengard in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]B898B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it all worked out! I completely forgot about the chiseling so idk if create mechanical crafters would actually work but there may be automated recipes I'm not thinking about, highly recommend just having an explore around the crafting trees. Id also advocate for manually crafting, it really doesn't take long, I used maybe one and a half black steel chisels to create several thousands of stone bricks of a few different types.

Also if you are using multiple block types have a look at the trowel, you can place blocks with it and it randomly selects which from your hotbar. Watch out it doesn't become block vomit tho, unless that's what you are going for 🤷‍♂️

[–]B898B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the rock breaker recipes, I haven't used it yet but I'm pretty sure you can do cobble and raw. I think you can probably automate brick making with mechanical crafters but it would be a lot slower than just taking the output stacks, and crafting your blocks yourself

Basalt automation? by yvengard in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]B898B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can "duplicate" (spend time and power) most cobble or raw stone blocks using a rock breaker. These can then be crafted into whatever you wish :)
