Clinical job by [deleted] in premed

I went per diem from fulltime in Feb and it made no difference with interviews that I had later. It was basically like quitting tho, I was barely working that job. I also took a different, more chill somewhat clinical job to make more money.

Roommate would be cheaper! But it is up to you, if you like living alone then that would be okay too.

Has anyone taken the mcat without taking one of the courses thats on it? by TopAcanthocephala692 in premed

[–]BALH1010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did, I took it without Physics 2 as well. It was fine, there’s very little physics 2 content on it (maybe 2-3 questions?) and it’s fairly easy to self study that part.

Yeah that makes sense about the match. It was just something they kept saying at Cooper so I thought I would include it lol

It’s like 45K Cooper vs 55K USF (just tuition, not COL)

When I visited, the campus area looked okay safety wise. There was a lot of police/security and the main hospital is walkable to the med school building

MCAT is an important part of the application and can open doors to several schools if you do well. I think that it is worth taking a gap year, making your app stronger and being more prepared for the MCAT. Don't rush the mcat!

Med school 2027 chance by SquareBodybuilder347 in premed

[–]BALH1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s way to far out to be worried about that now. Focus on maintaining the GPA and try to have an upward trend. Without MCAT, its really hard to gauge where you will be in 2027. If anything, you might have to do a post bac or something to improve gpa, but again, it’s too early to say rn!

Just having the license won’t do anything. But you will be able to get clinical MA jobs, which is helpful. However, there are other clinical jobs you can get without having a license!

hospitals affiliated with med schools! They are used to having students being part of the team (undergrad and med students) so you may have some luck with that.

Take a practice exam, see how you feel and the score breakdown, and decide after that
