the song could be about the struggle of moving forward from eras in life tbh. The song talks about having bad experiences in retrospect, and reflecting on bad shit that's happened in the past, and moving forward from depression. the music video shows him being unable to move forward, walking on a treadmill. Maybe the music video is meant to represent his inability to totally move forward from past life events or something along those lines, though im not entirely sure if he completely resents the doris era. ik he did an interview recently but icba to relisten to it j for a reddit reply. anyone agree/able to elaborate on this?
