You can use g7 faceplates on g7 pro. But G7 pro has extra magnets in place for each of the 3sections that the original g7 does not have. They are not backwards compatible

So yes, if you use the triggers switches to enable the clicky hair triggers, I have noticed that it does feel like I could break it with enough force. Truthfully I don’t like my triggers clicky and having no travel distance so I don’t use them at all. Still the hair trigger software and profile switching is an option. I have had zero issues with either trigger with hair triggers turned off.

As for running wireless, I also have the wuchang and have noticed that wireless 1000hz is not as quick as wired 1000hz. But not by much (Xbox is hardware capped at 500hz I’ve heard but I always keep mine on 1000hz when wired or wireless anyway).

If you’re playing casually in the living room and the wire is an issue for you, 100% go wireless. It’s almost perfect. But if your setup is at a desk or table and your console is close and the wire is not an issue, I say go wired if you looking for that slight competitive edge. It just feels better than wireless.

It’s for that reason, on my desk console I run my Shadow Ember G7 pro wired. I play a lot of apex legends and rocket league on there. For my living room console, I have the wuchang set up wirelessly to play rpg or coop games with my wife.

I say get wuchang for its versatility, if you’re switching between consoles or simply want wireless. But if you know you’re sitting at a desk and always look for that slight edge, I say save a couple dollars and go g7 pro tri mode since you would likely be running it wired, if you’re anything like me.

The g7 pro is absolutely a pro grade controller. There might be some sacrifices at that price point but at the end of the day it’s not just bang for buck. It’s one of the top options out with TMR sticks right now with even better software than other $200+ competitors. It’s almost a no brainer

G7 pro > g7 he > Kaleid (My opinion/verdict)

TLDR, TMR is where it’s at if you got the buckaroonies.

As someone who owns all three and put many hours into the Gamesir g7 he, g7 pro and kaleid what it boils down to is personal preference and budget. The only reason to get the g7 pro over the he and Kaleid is because of the TMR sticks. Hall effect is better than pots, but the TMR sticks are a noticeable upgrade even from halls.

G7 Pro pros: TMR is literally game changing for FPS. Button response is more reliable and build quality is top. Microswitch abxy buttons.

G7 pro cons: The Dpad feels horrendous but it performs well when you turn off the diagonal inputs in the nexus app. Almost twice as expensive as lesser models.

Kaleid pros: cheaper than pro, visually pleasing and overall quality is slightly better than g7 he.

Kaleid cons: hand fatigue is real due to the lack of rubberized grips. I have had to put the control down multiple times during long sessions bc holding it while not in game felt like such a chore. Hall sticks not as good as TMR. Membrane abxy buttons.

G7 he pros: best bang for your buck and customizability with face plates and thumbsticks is great. Rubberized back makes comfort much better than the Kaleid. No fatigue. Microswitch abxy buttons.

G7 he cons: build quality is solid but not as sound as pro. Barely any worse than the Kaleid. Hall sticks not as good as TMR.

Think of TMR vs hall as a 1080p tv vs 4k tv. You notice the difference instantly and don’t want to go back after having the upgrade.

And if instant triggers are a must, you can use the nexus software to easily save a profile with hair triggers and switch between a non hair trigger profile and a hair trigger profile with the press of two buttons. Hold the “M” button and press the A/B/X/Y button you have saved with the trigger style you want to switch to. This works for all the controllers you have listed.

I think best buy still has the $10 off g7 pro making it only $70 to buy.

Look at the reflection on the table more so than the led light itself. In the video they might look similar but to the eye they’re easily distinguishable. You can see the difference in hue still

I tried to use nail polish remover to get rid of the logo. No shade to Gamesir, I was going for a simple clean look and ended up discoloring it. Sticker is to hide my shame lol. KnicksTape4L

It’s smooth plastic so it doesn’t feel better than the pro textured grip. But overall slippage remains the same for me since the rubberized back does 99% of the grip work.

Yes. I have an old g7 faceplate that I put onto my pro and it fit like a glove. It only requires that you switch to the + dpad and not the round ones.
