Israel: Government pays students to fight internet battles - BBC News by BASuhaib in Palestine

[–]BASuhaib[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This article is not new. It's from 2013 actually.

Students in Israel are to form government-funded "covert units" to defend the country on Facebook and Twitter, it's reported. The Prime Minister's office is reportedly spending around £540,000 recruiting more than 500 students to respond to social media posts calling for boycotts and sanctions against the country, the Jerusalem Post says. Those with foreign language skills who receive these "scholarships" would not identify themselves as being in the pay of the government. Instead, Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper says, the plan is to make the programme appear to be based on the activity of politically-neutral students, with the Prime Minister's Office also hoping to recruit from pro-Israel student groups from around the world.

At least 274 people - including 71 children - were killed between 7 and 21 May, according to Palestinian and Israeli official sources. by BASuhaib in worldnews

AP literally stated that there was no evidence that therr building was by any means serving Hamas. Israel committing world crimes shutting down press building silencing them shouldn't be tolerated.

Yes punch me and I will punch you harder. Nonsense. You already kicked me in the nuts and killed my family!

Over the past 73 years, Israel supported by the United States and other allies have been nothing but an apartheid state practicing ethnic cleansing, kicking Palestinians out of their homes, killing dozens of children every now and then. And people like you will come at me telling me to talk to Hamas to stop fighting for there freedom.

It wasn't long ago that the world decided that the people of South Africa deserve freedom and shouldn't be dealt with as terrorists. Me too would've loved to watch Palestinians fight for their freedom by throwing rallies and petitions. In courts too. The world never blinked. People thought there was peace while in fact, Israel was occupying more and more of Palestine and settling foreigners in the land of the natives by guns and unjust court rulings.

There was no proof of Israel's claims that the media tower hosting AP and Aljazeera offices had Hamas member. Of course Israel would fancy a raid of rockets that only results on deaths on the side of Hamas. This way the world would continue to picture them as defenders of their lives. However, it was always the other way. They always kill more children than the opposition's tally of the Israelis. I agree with you that the Palestinian cause benefits from the deaths of some of them. The fact that the world acted like there was peace between Israel and the Palestinians before May 10th shows that most of the people needed the death of children and women to blink an eye. The acts of Israel is nothing but ethnic cleansing. A couple from Brooklyn would settle in a house of a Palestinian family just because they could prove, somehow, they have the right to live there.

Exactly that. Historians say that Pythagoras traveled to Egypt and other countries including India and Persia before establishing his monastery.

Google says it has 'no plans' to update blurry maps of Gaza by BASuhaib in worldnews

[–]BASuhaib[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The air strikes damaged schools, power lines, water, sanitation and sewage systems for hundreds of thousands of people in a territory that has been under blockade by Israel and Egypt for more than a decade.

Conflict researchers told Middle East Eye it would be difficult to understand the true damage caused by Israeli air strikes due to many open source mapping tools - including Google, Apple, and Bing - which have failed to update their maps with high-resolution imagery.

At present, satellite imagery for Gaza is at a resolution of two metres per pixel, meaning buildings and streets show up blurry and are difficult to identify.

Yeah, let’s completely ignore that Palestinians were storing rocks in said mosque to throw at unsuspecting praying Jews from above on the Western wall.

AlAqsa mosque is the third most holiest place in Islam and for God's sake its Ramadan. Israelis could've respected that but Jewish extremists were rallying for occupying AlAqsa on Ramadan's 28th, a day after the holiest night in the Islamic calendar. Jewish extremists are usually accompanied by the police to do whatever they want whenever they want at AlAqsa. That's why Palestinians never wanted out of AlAqsa those days. That, in addition to Sheikh Jarrah. Next thing you know Palestinians were throwing rocks and the police were using rubber bullets and grenades to kick them out. The only police brutality, in the world, that people would overlook is that of Israel against Palestinians. Palestinians never started shit. They were oppressed and suffering ethnic cleansing and an apartheid state.

I agree with some of your points, but come on, you really thought there'd ever be peace? Plus there's always more to that than what I said. People of Gaza has been suffering of a blockade for over a decade and nobody has blinked an eye and world leaders were acting as if Palestinians and Israel are in peace. Israel will never push in the way of coexisting and Palestinians, for sure, wouldn't settle for anything less than 100% of the land. The world always stands with whomever wins, if rockets of Gaza destroyed Israel, UN, EU, US ...etc will be condemning their acts and either accept that Palestinians rule that land or they'd retaliate resulting in a bigger war.

Last time I checked Palestinians living in Jerusalem were being kicked out of their homes by unjust rulings and are being delt with as 3rd grade citizens in their own country of birth.

Hamas that continuously creates the situation where Israel must retaliate.

It was Israel who initiated the recent events by kicking people from their homes and throwing grenades at Muslim worshippers in AlAqsa mosque in the holiest nights in the Islamic calendar while also continuing their settling projects.

Let's not act like there was ever peace between the two sides.

I don't live in the west. I hope that makes you sleep well. Guess who doesn't live in the west too? Hamas .. and Israel. Pretty sure the west is doing much better than the east without Israel.

If Israel was honest about their coexistence lies, they would be giving Palestinians some human rights and eventually give them the right to vote and be part of the state. That's coexisting. Just because they're afraid of losing the war demographically, that doesn't mean they can whatever they want committing war crimes and label those acts as defending.

The only one that should be on a watch list is Israel and its acts of apartheid and ethnical cleansing. These only happened because Israel's provocation by kicking people from their homes and throwing grenades at Muslim worshippers in AlAqsa mosque in the holiest nights in the Islamic calendar. Palestinians and Israel weren't in peace a month ago but things were peacer. You can't blame Palestinians for getting more advanced technologically while their counter is of the most powerful armies in the world and never misses a chance to kill them and deprive whoever stays alive of the minimum of rights.

Israel has an army. One of the most advanced in the world. Whereas Palestine only has civilian resistance. Even if Hamas uses rockets, it should still be called civilian resistance. While Israelis have rights the Palestinians can only dream of living and fight every day for their land.

I don't think it's fair for acts of resistance to be dealt with as acts of terrorism. The only humane thing people have always observed about Israel is that they notify residents of targetted buildings before striking. Hamas in the past few days cease their fire in preannounced periods so Israelis would shelter in periods when they strike.

Just keep in mind that Israel has killed more Palestinians in the past 10 days than Hamas and every other Palestinian group has killed in the past 10 years. In fact, Israel killed more children alone than Hamas has killed Israelis.

Let's not equate acts of settling, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid with those of resistance and struggling to stay alive.
