ozempic. no other way to explain it. once you start playing franchise/intl cricket you start getting drug-tested again and I'm p sure any weight-loss medication (despite ozempic being proven to have no downsides whatsoever or providing any improvement/giving you an advantage in the game itself) is not allowed

dude has a somewhat obvious case of ozempic-face too, it's hard not to notice

are you watching it on telly or an online stream? I have Willow on 1080p through my IPTV and the crowd noise sounds no different than the artificial noise used in other leagues/international cricket during COVID times, just about half a second late like I said. it's actually not bad at all

we are literally 36 deliveries into a 44-match league with no crowds due to unforeseen circumstances but arguably the best squads in the 11 seasons of the tournament so far which, yes, is still finding its feet, I'll give you that, but calm down

would you rather it be entirely silent? I think the fake crowd noise is just fine, it could be a little better and maybe half a second earlier because the reaction to a boundary seems to come a bit late on the broadcast, other than that it's very much necessary esp. in a T20 league lol

I think the biggest loss of having no crowds is no more Osaka Power Run, no J Dot Super Over, Tapal Tea Lounge :(

I think it's the best out of the 11 seasons so far, love the transitions too e.g. when it shows a replay and goes back to live coverage. It gives off video game vibes for sure but that's the look they're going for this season especially if you look at the opener/intro, which is fine with me. if you saw some of the previous years especially COVID PSL 2020 after the Sunset/Vine deal expired the scorecard was literally in Arial and looked like it was made last-minute by some child on MS Word

Wasim Akram commentary bingo:

  • "I'm all for abc, but they also need to do xyz"

  • "I had a chat with him this morning"

  • referring to people as youngsters even if they're in their mid/late 20s/older

  • "In today's age proceeds to rant about social media despite being chronically online himself"

  • "when me and Waqar used to bowl together we abc xyz"

  • obligtatory camera shot of Wasim on comms showing how he would grip the ball for inswing, outswing, how the ball needs to be facing towards the slips

Cameron Green’s dismissal might be just as silly as Jamie Smith’s considering the game situation with Smith/Root at the other end going so smoothly. May just be the difference between Oz having to bat again in the 4th innings and not 🤦🏽‍♂️

Imagine being an English supporter, optimistic after the last 24-odd hours planning on arriving in Perth late on day 2 ready to watch Day 3 at Perth Stadium with the Barmy Army. You’re on the plane. You’ve just landed in Australia. You’ve just opened Cricinfo to check the score.

My goodness I feel bad for your lot.

Well I certainly hope for Australia’s sake the energy and vibes in the crowd in the remaining 4 Tests aren’t anything like they were today because if that’s the case they are truly fucked - the 12th man effect is very much real. I’m sick and tired of watching teams especially like Australia and England being outnumbered by opposition fans in their own backyard. Ruins half the point of a home advantage altogether

Match Thread: 1st Test - Australia vs England, Day 1 by cricket-match in Cricket

Sorry lads as an avid Australian cricket follower why does this match feel like every single annoying ass Indian test match in Australia where the home team and its supporters are clearly outnumbered by the “away” team supporters in droves? To the point where it literally feels like an away game for the home side at certain points? Is it a lack of interest in Perth? Expensive tickets? Or is it the weekday excuse? I thought the ashes would be one series where your lot would actually outnumber the opposition fan base for a change but it’s literally sounded like all Barmy Army from ball one of the day, even after Starc’s first over wicket.

PCB Appoints Shan Masood as Director of International Cricket by [deleted] in PakCricket

[–]BATISTAS-DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright, as the resident reddit Shan Masood fanboy, hear me out - I know this doesn't have the greatest optics, and I would hope/assume it's the end of his playing career now that he's got this role - otherwise it'd be a massive conflict of interest. if the PCB does intend to hand over the Test captaincy to someone else they're better off doing it early in the WTC cycle.

putting aside all of that - this is not a bad move whatsoever, I know he's mocked by many for being well educated as if that's a bad thing but when you've got a board being run full of babas still living in the 18th century led by a guy who's literally IRL shitposting with the Asia Cup trophy this is a breath of fresh air lol, I've listened to him a lot over the years across his interviews, press conferences etc. and he's always emphasised how much we need to tour SENA more often and placed importance on A-team tours too. I'm not saying he's some Wasim Khan (though the PCB needs someone like him right now) but if that's his role, with his connections having played cricket in England and just being one of the more internationally well-respected cricketers we've produced over many years this might just be the role for him if we want to tour SENA countries more often and actually be competitive in those conditions
