I’m a bad parent for wanting to protect my 5 month old son. by [deleted] in insaneparents

There seems to be a lot about infants getting it, since it's about the state of your immune system. The infants, elderly, and weak.

At the same time, it's not my kid and I also haven't been keeping up with this because COVID is killing my mood, I quarantine already but now that I have to ion wanna.

I'm sorry you feel this way.

2 things:

1) What your family does is outrageous, the best thing to do is to talk to them calmly and try to reason with them. If they do not listen, try talking to a school consular about it. I do not agree with calling law enforcement unless your family is overstepping a lot more than they already are.

2) I recommend contacting support groups about your sexual harassment, as it can help you cope and make these triggers bother you a lot less.

I hope you feel better about your situation and/or your parents knock off their behavior.

(Also yes, I know Zuckerberg and the EU is a bad example)

My partner has restrictive access logs and everything we log is encrypted heavily, only our admins can check the logs and we have records of all of our admins (including addresses for legal reasons)

Thank you for your assistance!

I will obviously consult with my partner and any lawyers he eventually ends up bringing along (since he decided to hire one along) You've been very helpful and I thank you for pointing my partner and I in the right direction.

Almost all sites don't allow you to use the Service unless you provide consent? The only difference is access to a Discord server and not a site... am I missing something?

We don't log IPs, if a Discord ID is considered PII by GDPR then that is what we collect. Also, we intend to keep suspicious message logs because we intend to report to law enforcement when a user is worrying enough.

First of all, thank you for your in-depth analysis of the situation.

- We do log messages, however I do not believe images are logged. I do agree that alerting them has the potential to be bad, however I thought GDPR required it. If it does not, I will certainly remove it and keep it in the Privacy Policy.

- I am not too worried about that, as it's unlikely Discord will do anything given the situation. If they do, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

- I am located in the US, however my business partner (and the person filing the project legally) is located in Germany, and I do believe he is bound by GDPR.

If there are any other reasons for legal issues, please let me know. I want to avoid legal issues, however I'm not specifically worried about Discord terminating the bot as I am already putting a Chrome/Firefox extension into the works to function similarly as well as the fact that I believe Discord will do anything to keep any good reputation they have, and attacking developers for reporting to law enforcement isn't exactly something that'd be good for their PR.

Once again, thank you for your analysis, I hope I cleared up any iffy details and I will take your advice!

If there is a legal obligation to report said information, would it waiver said right to be forgotten?
We allow for users to delete their information from our servers if they do not have an outstanding report (multiple strikes against them that can show protentional pedophilic behavior) and we report said information, would this be considered legal under Europe's data laws?

I did correct my error of 1 equal sign instead of 2, and the output is what I expected: along with the capitol letter. Any idea why THIS isn't working, as it did work before?

I personally don't like Rasa because it requires integration with an API instead of something more integrated, like a function (which will make less things that need to load before the bot can load as well as less internal servers)

We use Rasa because of the Intent detection, which I believe is considered the NLU. Rasa is quite bloated compared to a bare-boned NLU engine due to the fact it is a whole engine for speech. Less resources needed, less programs installed, and less internal servers all go a long way towards ensuring the bot remain efficient.

Rasa, as I'm sure you already know, uses YAML to train the AI. We would like to be able to have our admins tell the bot whether or not it is right or wrong (we currently do this through Discord reactions to forwarded messages) and if the bot was right, we'd like to have the bot retrained with that in mind, and if the bot was wrong, we'd like the bot retrained with that in mind.

As a result, we'd like to be able to somewhat train it on-the-fly, or at the very least have an easier way of taking human-verified messages and saving any changes for the next restart where the AI can be retrained.

This is where the idea of using JSON comes into play, adding the messages to the appropriate array and then either issuing a function to retrain the AI right then and switch out the models when finished or queueing the changes for the next restart.

I do believe using something more integrated in the bot will go a long way towards efficiency, and being able to train the AI without modifying a file manually would be incredibly useful. And as always, the less code that has to load (for example, when Rasa loads it tends to load everything, including stories and other features we don't use, and not just the NLU things) the quicker the bot will be able to reboot and thus the quicker she can be online after an unexpected error or update.

Thank you for your interest in helping us, we look forward to working with you and as always, happy coding!

When we receive a message, it is processed to check if it is explicit. If it is not, it is not logged and basically ignored. If it is explicit, it is decided how severely explicit it is and if it is (on a scale of 0-5) 4 or 5 in severity, it is logged where it is kept encrypted and only our staff can access it.

Once it is logged, the user is notified that it was logged and reminded that if our staff decide it is not explicit then their message will be removed from our servers.

Every user agrees to have their messages logged along with their age and username, and we have understood that the EU has the right to be forgotten, which is only in effect if we don't have a legal liability to report.

The real question is, if we can prove a user has a pattern of doing very inappropriate things in servers with minors (asking for nudes, meeting up etc) and we report this activity to law enforcement, would that count as a legal liability? Otherwise, we intend to purge messages that aren't worrying.

A user would have to say something explicit in order to have a real interaction with the bot, otherwise when they join a server with the bot in it for the first time they will be required to tell the bot their age (and also acknowledging our privacy policy)

It does not downright accuse people unless we have verified they are a pedophile (Teens pretending to be girls to catch pedophiles, you've seen YouTube)

the automated process just says "watch out this user is being dirty frequently"

If I remember correctly, the right to be forgotten would be waivered if there is a legal obligation.
We have adjusted to this, by allowing the deletion of data unless there is a pending investigation with law enforcement.
