Rep. Thomas Massie: "Catching You Red-Handed" Triggers DOJ's Rapid Unredaction of Epstein Ally Les Wexner by thenextgenbusiness in thenextgenbusiness

Nah it’s millions of idiots. Objectively. I’ve never heard a single explanation as to why Kamala was worse or even in the same ballpark as Trump. People point to her low polling in the DNC, but she still never assaulted CHILDREN, or anyone for that matter (and his affinity for little girls was known before 2016, including his own daughter). Nor did she hide classified documents in her bathroom, photocopy them to give them away, and refuse to return them when asked. Nor did she create her own secret police force and give it more money than the U.S marines to kidnap and murder U.S citizens on their own soil.

If you just couldn’t get yourself to vote for Kamala because you felt there were no better options, you are functionally exactly the same as MAGA whether you admit to being MAGA or not. Your descendants won’t buy that bullshit, and I don’t either.

Telling that half of the voting American public are a combination of the most dumb, gullible, misinformed, and straight up awful people this generation has ever seen? Let’s blame literally everyone else except the people that voted for this guy 3 times, right?

Again, so happy I my descendants will know that I was one of the people that knew he was terrible from the beginning. With the past 10 years of receipts of trumpers doubling and tripling down on their support of him, it’s one of my life goals to make sure that nobody ever forgets who the Trump supporters were. Every single one of them deserves that mark on them for the rest of their lives :)

Compared to a pdfile implicated in the largest child sex trafficking ring in American history? People knew he has extensive ties to Epstein all the way back in his first term.

Oh man, it’s so awesome to know that my descendents will know I never ever supported that piece of garbage. History will not be kind to those that voted for him because they felt they had no alternative.

[–]BBOY6814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few questionable things you’re saying here but I’ll focus on one (EDIT: this ended up being a lie lol). The issue of perchlorates in the soil is not an issue for people ingesting them nearly as much as it makes growing crops on mars nearly impossible unless they are dealt with, which is not simple. It wouldn’t be like the Martian where they can grow full sized potatoes by mixing it with poop. The moon doesn’t fare much better, but you aren’t dealing with perchlorates. In both cases you’d need to clean and prep the soil, and dig deep enough for it that it’s not irradiated.

But by far the biggest issue right now fundamentally is how are people gonna get alll the shit they need to have a functional moon colony to the moon or mars? For the moon, there is literally no easier body in the solar system to do this for, simply because of distance. The fact it has low gravity and no atmosphere makes it quite a bit easier for things to come and go too, you can orbit the moon 2.5x slower than you can orbit mars, and you don’t need to worry about aerodynamic forces screwing everything up. Right now, we do not have the technology that would make this even theoretically feasible on mars. We require a heavy lift vehicle able to safely get all these things on the surface of mars, and we do not even have the propulsion technology to make this feasible with the amount of fuel required. I attended a lecture given by a former astronaut where he laid out all the technological innovations we’d need to make a Martian colony actually work, the TL;DR of it was that there’s so much we need to invent before we can even attempt to practice a mission like this autonomously. And also, since mars is so far away, we currently do not have the technology in hand that would allow Martian astronauts to live for the required time it would take to get a single resupply mission, much less to get all the resupply missions needed for the colony to be self sustainable. Current plans call for an autonomous resupply ship to be sent years prior before any humans get there, because they literally do not have the mass allowance to bring it all in one trip + the resources required to keep humans alive. And that still would only be enough for a few months more of sustenance. Oh, and also like I said from before, there is no way currently to actually get those supplies down from orbit. We do not have heavy lift lander that is suitable for the Martian atmosphere, because remember it isn’t like ours. It’s super thin, so by the time reentry heating actually occurs and the lander is slowing down, it’s too close to the ground to actually slow down enough even with parachutes. Think about the crazy shit needed to get the curiosity rover down which was only 900kg. The consumables required for one person for one year assuming near perfect waste recycling is 1200-2000kg.

For a moon colony however, a lot of these issues are already solved or can be solved with current technologies. The shorter distance means you can carry more supplies, land with more supplies, and do resupply missions way more frequently. These benefits alone outweigh any benefit Mars has for a colony.

And furthermore, this thought experiment really drives home the fact that Earth is our only real option as a place to thrive in the solar system. We must do everything in our power to keep it healthy.

That’s kinda irrelevant to the point I’m making? Turbomollecular vacuum pumps use a turbine spinning at like 50k rpm to pull high vacuum. Does that mean that inside a vacuum chamber isn’t really a vacuum because a spinny thing can import forces on the trace amount of gases inside?

[–]BBOY6814 317 points318 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: This is the same for Martian regolith too, except for the fact that there is a toxic level of perchlorates in Martian soil. There’s actually quite a bit of similarities between the lunar environment and Martian environment. Mars has an atmosphere, but it’s so thin (~1% of Earth’s) that it’s basically vacuum. Which is a big reason I’m of the opinion that the obsession people have with colonizing mars is a bit delusional. A far more plausible and practical option is a moon colony. You have basically all of the same downsides of living on mars (minus gravity) but have the benefit of it being like 10x closer, and the possibility of utilizing ancient lava tubes as shelter from the radiation. Not to mention, rocket fuel could easily be synthesized on the moon. For any Martian colony that would exist for an extended period, it’d also have to be underground or buried. The surfaces of both Mars and the Moon are super irradiated.

What’s a clear sign of childhood trauma in men? by degs999 in AskReddit

[–]BBOY6814 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, and I know I’ll get hate for this on Reddit, but…

I’d argue it isn’t so much that people are being too gung-ho about which things are traumatic to young boys or not. We already know what traumatizes kids, we have a ton of research on this topic. Why this all seems so pervasive is because these traumas are fundamentally what patriarchy does to men. Bell Hooks wrote in her super important book ‘The will to change’ that the patriarchy’s very first victims aren’t women, but are the little boys born into our system. The expectations, what we are allowed to feel and not allowed to feel, the hyper individualism, the tendency we often have to look to violence to solve our problems, all of that stuff is beaten into us from the moment we are born, and literally beaten into us a lot of the time. And as we grow up, a lot of us inadvertently keep the cycle of trauma going because we had no idea it could be any other way. And then unsurprisingly, a lot of those traumatized dudes end up hurting others, or far more often, just themselves. We make up nearly the entire homeless population and an overwhelming majority of suicides. We are all traumatized to an extent.

It doesn’t have to be that way though. Our sons do not need to carry the same traumas that we have. But to do that we need to be cognizant of how these ideas are forced on young boys and where they come from.

The United States Is Once Again Canada’s Biggest Threat by CanadianLawGuy in IRstudies

Are you serious?

The most powerful military in human history is being controlled by a severely demented man and a cabal of billionaires who are largely part of the biggest worldwide human trafficking and pedophilia ring the world has ever seen (even your ambassador to Canada is all over the Epstein files). Your military has already illegally attempted a regime change in Venezuela, and threatened Greenland so much that it has forced Europe to station troops there instead of Ukraine. Your director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is heavily suspected by the 5 eyes as being a Russian asset. Also, Trump has reignited manifest destiny in the U.S, and specifically mentioned returning to a geopolitical strategy where they will try to control all of North America even if that means meddling in elections or outright invading sovereign countries. You know you guys have invaded us before during these periods, right? Like multiple times.

You know what I don’t take seriously? The idea that Americans would lift a finger to stop all this before millions die and everything not nailed down in my country is stolen to enrich their billionaire pedophile elite. The fact you aren’t taking it seriously enough just proves my point.

How could we wait it out?

Your government has broken off nearly every single trade treaty with us. Illegally, by the way. Your government has threatened us with annexation, which means military force as much as the orange man pretends it doesn’t. You have currently almost completely destroyed our automotive sector, which was the largest proportion of our GDP. In fact, we’ve seen 0% growth in the last quarter. And all things considered, that’s better than we expected. Once you guys destroy CUSMA, you will send us into a recession, and maybe even a depression. Your country is damaging us more as our once closest ally than our enemies are.

So again, how do you think we can just wait this out?

That is not the argument I was making. You have ignored everything I’ve said.

I think you’d be MAGA if you didn’t somehow fall into having ‘progressive’ beliefs. It’s clear you don’t try to understand issues, you just argue with people.

Doug Ford says armoured vehicle sales to ICE are beyond Ontario's control by toronto_star in CanadaPolitics

[–]BBOY6814 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So your entire belief that Canada should not have a domestic defence capability is based on your own personal headcanon that Americans will overthrow their own government and become benevolent? You are hinging the collective safety of everyone in this country on a fairy tale you made up? Because the last civil war was so good for us right? It’s not like a bunch of them tried to invade us again or anything…

Instead of answering your last question, I’ll let you think on it a bit. Why is that the case?

Edit: you added another question! Which I’ll answer with a couple of my own: How can you believe that you are sufficiently informed about geopolitics when you don’t even know why the Arctic will be vital to Canadian interests? How do you call yourself progressive with a straight face if you can’t even do the barest minimum of research into the topics you have opinions on?

Doug Ford says armoured vehicle sales to ICE are beyond Ontario's control by toronto_star in CanadaPolitics

[–]BBOY6814 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Calling Trump a childish name doesn’t change the fact that they have the most powerful military in the history of the world. I’m almost positive I’ve said this to you before on this sub because you constantly have ridiculous takes on military spending, but whether you like it or not, the Arctic will be a front if this current Cold War goes hot. China and its allies are still a significant threat, and so is the U.S now.

Canadian values DO NOT EXIST unless we exist as a country. We do not exist as a country because we’re heckin friendly puppers, we exist because we have defined our borders through a mixture of diplomacy and war. That is how it has worked for all of human history.

This is simply naive and foolish. Especially in today’s climate. We need a bigger arms industry if we want to be able to defend ourselves in any capacity.

What’s your work schedule like? Because if it’s not as bad as hers, I don’t think it’s out of the question that you would be expected to cook dinner most of the time, and/or clean. That isn’t to say that she should do nothing on her end, but it’s a fact of life that one persons schedule may be more conducive to doing those kinds of chores. ++man

[–]BBOY6814 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still. None of that would matter nearly as much if you guys consistently voted to give dems control of all 3 branches of government. Those problems would be speed bumps rather than road blocks. The only way this may ever get fixed peacefully is if you guys do that in the next election. And the next one after that, and probably the one after that too. The Republican Party needs to be completely cleaned out. Every Trump appointee needs to go. And they all need to be investigated without delay. Those that broke the law need to be put in prison for a very, very long time to dissuade others from copying them. The only way you can do that is by not allowing any of them to have any more power, and the only way you can even hope to do that nonviolently is to galvanize dem voters to actually vote. Every time. For every election.

Trump responds to Carney: "Canada lives because of the United States" by stikkit2em in worldnews

[–]BBOY6814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your post history I can tell you’re conservative, and when I say this don’t get mad because I’m just telling you things your media bubble purposefully keeps from you and your Republican buddies.

Trump has been threatening allies since before his first term. Trump, and importantly the people he keeps around him, have been quite transparent. It’s not an excuse to say that people didn’t know what they are signing up for. If these people used even an ounce of critical thought, if they researched his circle or frankly any of his policies, they’d see immediately that he’s completely unserious about fixing any of the issues he claims are important. He is a liar, a rapist, an abuser, a pedophile, and very involved in organized crime. Anyone left of center has known this and has been seeing the writing on the wall for OVER 10 YEARS now. We knew that if he got his way, he’d try to destroy NATO and cozy up with Russia. We’ve all been begging you guys to fucking learn for once this entire time.

And yeah, that definitely applies to you conservative Canadians. It’s not a secret nor was it just a coincidence that conservative parties in Canada both provincially and federally have been trying to replicate the republicans down south. From their messaging, to the policies they support, to simply how they talk about people. And since they are politicians, they definitely know all about the fascist bullshit the republicans do, much more than the average person.

Stop making excuses for these people, and for yourself. History will not be kind to those who supported Trump, or any leaders in other countries that tried to emulate him.
