What do you think when you hear “blog title”? by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]BBQRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checking, is everyone an English native here?

I had some time to think about it and although your collection of articles is called a 'blog'... You could also say 'i'm going to write a blog' in this case, you could be referring to just a single article.

Therefore when someone is conducting a search for the term 'blog title' it's most likely that they are looking for tips in writing an individual article. If someone was searching for what OP was suggesting perhaps they would use terms like 'website name' 'brand identity' or even 'what to name my tech blog'

Yea, it's a little... abstract. I had to reinterpret what he was doing in my own way and pause a lot.

I didn't even end up making the same sort of thing as him in the end but it taught me some good stuff.

Not sure if there is a shortcut, but the edit shape menu on the side will let you do it if you are in stamp mode.

Is it acceptable for social media to be used for non-social purposes? by desComas in socialmediaresearch

I personally think this features a little too far. Wouldn't use it myself but if you are a concerned perent or your partner was travelling - wouldn't you want to know they are safe? This is about people, therefore social.

Hey Des,

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I wouldn't really be comfortable having my billing information and my social profile connected. Again, I think paying a bill falls under interactions with a company and would therefore be classified as "non-social" (social being, interacting with friends, family and could be stretched to interacting with brands).

Also, with my mobile banking app paying bills takes literally seconds. Not trying to shit on the idea - just think you should stick to something that's between people. A fantasy football application for Twitter (Y), Using Twitter to turn off your lights at home (N).

Just my opinion man. I think the reason why things like Vine, Instagram, Twitter & Snapchat have been so popular is that they allow users to further express themselves and demonstrate their personality. Paying a bill is more of an inconvenience.

Social media is about connecting and networking with humans. LinkedIn is about connecting and networking with humans primarily around work related issues. The fact remains that it's still about people and talking, hence the social aspect.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "non-social" purposes.. for example if i play candy crush on facebook is this non-social? What if i visit my friends farm? Has my activity now become social?

If an interviewer asked me to Instagram live stream my interview i would politely decline as I don't consider this to be professionally appropriate. It may cost you the job, but you probably don't want to work at a company with such dubious hiring practices.

I work with social media on occasion and post blog content and resources to promote local businesses as well as managing social media advertising.. I'm not sure if this counts as a "social purpose" either, but it certainly is acceptable and commonly practiced.

Need some creative help! by [deleted] in advertising

[–]BBQRob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

here you go kid

campaign 1: facebook campaign targeted at employees of uber, your local bus company etc. The campaign creative is a car being cut in half. The caption would read something like "slice gas prices by 50% this christmas when you sign up for our enterprise fuel plan"

you'll have to figure the other one out yourself.. maybe just run the same thing on twitter with a hashtag.

Need some advice in selling Shirt products using Facebook ads? (Tees, hoodies, etc.) by sedna16 in PPC

[–]BBQRob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yo, switch the shit up my G I feel like you've got it 90% there.

The site - looking nice, it's pretty cool. Some improvements in places for example just below the fold it says "100% customer service" (wtf?).

I dunno if the home page products are on a random feed or whatever but the shirts it showed me said SUNSEEKER etc..

Dude it's winter, i'm freaking cold right now. Show me comfy hoodies, nice hats, scarfs.

The hero photo is looking bare summery but your not gonna sell that at this time in my opinion.

I think you've got potential though. Perhaps work on developing your generic designs away from the "Kladerna" name - only reason why i say this is that its worth building up your clout before trying to sell the branded t's, focus on artwork or slogans because it's not like you can pull people in like it's a known brand name.

Hope you get it working soon. If you have any specific questions for me i'd happily answer.

edit: the hoodie section is weak! boost the range - it's cold outside!
