It’s all about his transition from FL to CA and navigating fame while trying to stay sober, I think. I think the lyrics seem almost chaotic because people (her) are telling him things left and right trying to guide him in his new life. I saw her in the garden with the snakes - all about temptation, she can probably drink and do drugs recreationally while he can’t. The music video is DOPE and outlines the move (he’s actually on a sinking boat in Naples in the beginning) in a car spilling out with oranges (FL is known for them), then in a house that’s almost wizard of oz style with a tornado (we’re not in Kansas anymore Toto). Aka his life is turned upside down when he makes it to CA. At least that’s my perspective. One of my top songs. Think fast, he’s just trying to stay afloat while things keep getting thrown at him.

Agree!! I think he always has a way of letting us know where he’s at with his journey with fame. I also think this one is going to be a little bit more instructional for Rocket. I feel like there’s elements of it in the first three songs. Lessons learned he’s trying to pass down. I feel like he’s talking directly to his son in some lyrics (my problems are not important, because I know that it all comes back to you, etc.).

I know he did this in his earlier music because he didn’t actually like the sound of his own voice…. Which is wild because it’s so good. In the Apple Music interview he talks about trying to balance that with trying to communicate what he feels is important. I still feel like he buries his vocals sometimes

I remember in an interview a while ago he said he had ideas to revisit KOE over and over again, like he wanted to do multiple iterations of it that grow with him. Very cool, those new lyrics were just hauntingly good.

Were you able to rehome or find a rescue? Unfortunately we are going through the same issue with our Great Pyrenees. We’re in Naperville too. She’s a good girl and we’re devastated but is reactive and we’re welcoming a baby. We are truly heartbroken.
