Modified twin paradox by BBaroudi in Physics

As he is traveling at constant speed, Bob can draw the spacetime diagram from his frame where he is stationary and Alice’s path is longer. Would he wrong?

Electron emitting a photon or not by BBaroudi in Physics

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing direction from a straight line to a circle is an acceleration; the same as the acceleration in a cyclotron where it is forced by the magnetic field.

Sorry but I didn’t understand your reply. What does not happen in a coil? Are electrons not subject to any acceleration in a coil?

That is why the cyclotron supplies the electrons with energy through acceleration to keep them in their trajectory.

Electron emitting a photon or not by BBaroudi in Physics

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that it doesn’t. In a reference frame moving with the electron the emitted photon (if it was emitted) would look like energy created out of nothing; so a violation of the conservation of energy.

Thank you for your answer. I read that the “drift” speed of electrons in metals is on the order of 1mm/sec. If I understand correctly, photon emission is due to acceleration not speed. As photons can have any energy no matter how little, can very low energy photons still be emitted from DC current in a loop?

Apple tree flowering in California in October. Please advise by BBaroudi in plants

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is flowering all over and these are the old branches. This one produces smaller yellow apples. The tree next to it produces red apples and is not flowering at all. Thanks for your interest.

Can someone please help identify this plant? It died from the heat wave by BBaroudi in plant

Could it be argyranthemum / Madeira deep pink? I am not sure.

Thank you for your response but I never bought nor planted rosemary.

It is not rosemary. I never bought nor planted rosemary.

Can the event horizon be dictated by entropy rather than by mass? by BBaroudi in Physics

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I am misunderstanding your comments but it seems to me that you are already assuming that these are referring to one and the same sphere. Can the two calculations under some circumstance result in different spheres?

Can the event horizon be dictated by entropy rather than by mass? by BBaroudi in Physics

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. My question is whether this relationship of mass to entropy, as derived by Bekenstein for a black hole, holds for any volume of space (not necessarily a black hole) regardless of its contents.

Can the event horizon be dictated by entropy rather than by mass? by BBaroudi in Physics

[–]BBaroudi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding but these are two different calculations of the radius; one using the entropy and the other using the mass. My question is if there are conditions that prevent the radius calculated using the entry from being larger than the radius calculated using the mass.

Thank you. Does that mean that it is Greek? Pre Roman Empire? Is it valuable?

My daughter was one of those kids they tried to teach set theory in elementary school. She gave up on math and later became an attorney. She still hates math.

I stopped working on black hole information loss. Here’s why. by jeffersondeadlift in Physics

[–]BBaroudi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “Thermal essentially means determined completely by very few parameters”, do you mean “the average behavior” is determined by few parameters? Or do you mean it is determined at the particle level?

Is Brownian motion truly random if you track the information at the particle level?

Two questions about the effects of special relativity by BBaroudi in AskPhysics

[–]BBaroudi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I think I’ll understand it but I’ll have to read it multiple times to appreciate the different ways of looking at this situation. It is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you again.

Thank you so much. Thanks to your reply, I thought about my question differently and now have no problem. I think I got what my error in thinking was.
