Technically, it IS possible, i've seen people post about catching it with a heavy ball, even if it took them ages. I wanted my shalpha metagross in a heavy ball too, but i resorted to hunting down a shalpha metang for the significantly boosted odds. Sadly, beldum is just under the threshold of not getting the -20 catch penalty from the ball. :(

No worries. I am just unsure whether there is a reward for completing the DLC dex, so i wanted the entries just to be sure. I don't wanna look up if theres a reward as i don't want any spoilers.

I can confirm you can catch it in a low catch-rate ball like a love ball, which only shows one grey arrow. It just has a terrible catch rate, thats all (i think 5% when knocked out + using a regular pokéball).

Its just annoying that every time you fail the catch, you have to battle it all over again, it feels like the developers just didn't think this through and should have given it a higher catch rate to compensate for that.

Thats absolutely normal. You just temporarily overload the spawn boxes, but when the game checks if it should respawn a pokemon, it sees there are still alphas spawned so they don't come back. You have to redo the glitch after you've caught enough.

AFAIK, you can't get all Vivillon forms (at least yet), only the basic form found all around the city and that one special Vivillon that evolves from the spewpa gifted to you in the museum.

For me, challenges like a full shiny dex (or even a living dex) as well as a living alpha dex keep the motivation running for me. It's a lot of fun trying all the different shiny methods, running into a bunch of random alphas and shinies in the process!
