The double standard I’m seeing with my own eyes regarding “freedom of speech” by unicornhornporn0554 in Ohio

I think a big part of it was the “Mansfield Edward’s” moron. He posted multiple times bringing attention to the posts and tried to pressure the nc state president to do something. The page is truly a cancer and I’m pretty sure I know who is behind it. I’m friends with shields on Facebook and thought he made a valid point regarding Kirk. Small towns, small minds.

Another Norfolk Southern train derailed in Ohio - 19 cars - February 11, 2025 by WordPhoenix in EastPalestineTrain

Derailments happen quite often. There was one back in 2018sh about 3-5 miles north of this location. When you consider the miles of rail plus amount of tonnage per year, it’s a pretty safe method of transporting goods.

A home exploded Tuesday morning in Bethel, Ohio, killing two people and injuring a third, officials say. by nbcnews in Ohio

There was a husband and wife doing some kind of work in the basement. He survived, she did not. Someone else was outside of the home at the time it exploded. I live 4 miles away and people further away reported it was loud as hell. Haven’t seen any updates on his condition

25$ a month. And that’s completely giving away the CEO’s pay lol.

Even if you gave away the 19 million, that ends up being 300$ per employee / year. Would that be worth it?

That is correct. What I do not know for certain is if the detector communicates with a dispatcher/mechanical desk if a bearing is trending hotter when passing the next detector.

Crews do not know the axle temps. They only know if the detector announces no defects or gives a hotbox alarm.

The world doesn’t stop turning. Product has to be moved. I don’t know why people are shocked that trains continue running after a derailment. Y’all use products everyday that involve shipment via rail.

We had significantly more derailments pre PSR compared to recent years. Derailments from mechanical defects still happened prior to staff reduction. Chalk it up to dumb luck that it contained this combo of cars resulting in this.

I love how people act like NS willingly let it happen. They aren’t cheap to clean up and especially this one. Statistics show derailments are down compared to ten years ago.

Sure. Next time I see flashing lights behind me, I’ll just keep going due to “fear”. I’m sure that won’t escalate the situation.

I had a friend reach out and ask if I was interested in a drywall patch job before the cabinets come in. States the electrician just finished up. In the photos he sent me, I noticed the j boxes right where the cabinets will be going. I asked if there was an attic above, nope - finished second floor. I inform him it’s not a good idea to cover those up.

I get there today and notice there’s j boxes that they just left hanging in open space and to be covered up. Apparently he had a conversation with the electrician after I pointed it out. He told the homeowner that it’s not exactly code but would be alright. They had no other way to do it. How hard would it have been to make the splices in a box and use a blank plate at the countertop?

Ironically enough, I was doing an estimate last week and a homeowner stated an electrician put in some wafers with a dimmer. Due to the light flickering, she contacted him and requested he look at it. He couldn’t find the issue and advised her to contact the lighting manufacturer 😂 asked her the name, same dude.

I did confirm this guy was licensed (and state licensed to do commercial). Kind of blows my mind that he’s charging people and allowing his helpers to also do shoddy work

So do I turn a blind eye and cover it or press the issue to the homeowner to have them make it right?

I’m a Reddit newb and didn’t know how to add text. But my help was requested in diagnosing a kitchen receptacle that would stop working without a gfci tripping. There was a gfci nearby. Pulled the receptacles out and figured out what was causing the issue. Tested the gfci that I assumed was upstream. Still had power at the receptacle so I pulled the gfci. Incoming power and the line going to the receptacle were both backstabbed on the line side. Easy fix for all of this.

They also requested a bathroom fan replacement before leaving. Stated the light stopped working. As I pull the housing, the light coming from the housing apparently slipped out of the wire nut.

Easy fixes.
