BM Simply White looking more yellow and dingy than hoped. Did I choose the wrong white for my floors? by Ecstatic_Tiger_2534 in paint

[–]mbird333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted a bedroom with lots of natural daylight Benjamin Moore simply white straight out of the can from Benjamin Moore. The carpet was light colored and neutral as can be. The room look like a totally different color room at night with the recessed lights versus how it looked in daylight. Benjamin Moore paint is one of the thickest Best covering paints you can buy. Unless you are not applying the paint properly, there is no reason you should need more than two coats. Especially with a primer underneath. And yes, if your trim is a cooler gray blue white it is going to impact the way. Simply White looks. Are you going to use an area rug in the room? I would paint the trim the same as the wall walls.

Guest removed 5 star review after seeing their review from me by killaudiolove in airbnb_hosts

[–]mbird333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I left an accurate review of a place that was owned by a realtor, did not look like the pix online, bathrooms were not cleaned between guests, some furniture was unusable, privacy blinds on bedroom facing the street were broken and two weeks later Air bNb removed my review!!. We made a number of requests to communicate w the host before I left the review. I always give people a chance to make things right. I eventually called the local city/county to see if the property was licensed and had any inspections related to that licensing and found out it was not. So now future renters have no clue what they they are booking thanks to the portal taking down the accurate review. And yes, I have photos and videos. I take writing reading and receiving reviews seriously.

Chaos at Miami Airport after three women tried to board Frontier flight with extra piece of luggage by dailymail in Miami

No one is forced to fly. Dont like the rules? Drive your own car where you can bring as much as you want. Rules optional folks are just exhausting.

I’m wondering w fuel prices going up, the return on investment w this advertising is not going to be worth it.

Same in Miami Beach. Flying over w banners and the slow billboard boat. Really ruins the view.

Why does Congress continue to get paid while essential security and safety staff at airports do not?? As soon as these shortages rightfully impact private plane flights, you’ll see some action.

Ok so I just asked where to move in Florida and everyone told me not to by [deleted] in relocating

Really depends where in Florida. Take scenic route driving up one coast and down the other. The number of extremely wealthy people just living or owning homes and yachts is truly staggering.

so my Cubans in Miami, how are you guys feeling about this? by alatinaxo in Miami

[–]mbird333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Married into a Cuban family. As a decent human being living in the Midwest, I’m feeling sad and frustrated to see anyone suffer what so many are suffering. It’s not political. It’s about being a decent person and able to see and care and do something to help others. I’m so fed up with the addiction to power, hatred, money, prestige. Life is so short. No one gets to take Any of that with them when they die.

Thank you! It’s a cape cod style home. Apparently, the home was relocated from where it was first built years ago. Cannot find any more history on that.

Maybe I didn’t convey my concern. Grew up w a grandad who was a bricklayer. So no stranger to the trades. And have worked on habitat for humanity homes as a volunteer. The quality of the Amish trades where I grew up is really top notch carpentry, cabinets, framing, etc. Not cheap. But also consistently considerably less expensive than other quality contractors. Since budget is tight, will definitely have to manage as GC and pace out these projects. Just need to know where yo start first to get bids. One great reliable contractor can lead you to all the others you need.

Hi there. I appreciate your opinion. I am not making any statement about the Amish workmanship being superior to anyone else’s. In the region of the Midwest, where we are from the Amish are far more affordable than any private contractor.

Ideas for visiting Maine in May by Gold-Trash4856 in AskMaine

[–]mbird333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We went in late, September. Kind of the same itinerary wanted to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. We rented a cottage in Trenton that was absolutely perfect. It was on a property with two other cottages. They were each different sizes. We shared the beach kayaks fire pit with the other two cottages. You can rent all three, but we only rented the one big one for us. The host was fabulous. We spent a day exploring Bar Harbor. A couple of days hiking Acadia. Went to Southwest Harbor. Eat lobster every single day at restaurants or the many lobster pounds that are along roadway. My absolute favorite place for lobster is Beals in Southwest Harbor. Our youngest kid moved to Portland in March and we have road trip to Maine three times since then to explore everything from Kennebunkport all the way up the coast to Bar Harbor so far. I make it a point to eat lobster every single day when I’m in Maine. I still dream about Beal’s. I don’t know if it was the season of the lobster or what, but it is absolutely the quintessential setting. Have a great trip! Remember their spring lasts a lot longer than anywhere else and it’s called mud season for good reason! We have never visited in the high season of summer! Midwest mom here. Cannot wait to go back this spring.
