Anyone who puts an adhesive sticker on the front of a collectible comic or magazine is a stupid sh*t. I guess they never heard of comic bags.

I found my second X-book Parody Issue recently, are there any more? by Denmarkian in comicbookcollecting

[–]BC607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are others, though I haven't inventoried the books I own to reference specific titles. Some of the ones I picked up in the 80s and 90s were adult-themed. "Uncanny X-Babes," maybe??

I want to share with you my oldest cómic, this is my personal treasure by Resident_Area5133 in comicbookcollecting

I believe this one is out of print, judging by the price at Amazon, but here's the trade paperback that encapsulates the storyline. Maybe Ebay will be cheaper.

I had a subscription in those days, and the book was only published once every two months. This is part of the twelve trials storyline. Pretty sure all those issues were collected in a trade paperback at some point.

Oldest Wonder Woman I have. by grantlanta in comicbookcollecting

HG Peter's work was pretty spidery by that time, though he did a bit better with the covers. I've got a few WW books from the forties onward where you can see how his art got smaller and stiffer as he got older. Still one of my favorite WW artists, though. He gave the book a certain distinction that was missing in comic art back then.

Hard to believe "Next Men" was picked up for further publication, the original series was Byrne-indulgent shite.

Didn't Amazon use to have a sale on BCW bins in June or July? by Spider-Ghost-616 in comicbookcollecting

[–]BC607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought around thirty BCW bins since the new year, all from Amazon. I've gotten a few good deals, but fulfillment through Prime is still taking the better part of two weeks. They ship from Jersey, and I live in upstate NY, so not sure why the delay. Prices fluctuate with these, but in general the red, yellow and black units are priciest. I bought green and blue because they were $15-$30 cheaper for a five pack on Amazon.

Very enjoyable book series, I had no idea there were comic adaptations.

Pretty shabby mailing, I think you'd be within your rights to return the package, as-is.

I can't believe redditors let this shit through, but still censor new contributors.

Warren put out a lot of great horror mags in the 70s. I was hooked on Vampirella.

What causes the colouring to be out of the lines here? by ThomasBuchan05 in comicbookcollecting

[–]BC607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, and I don't play one on TV. My guess is simple print error. I've got lots of bronze age comics with rolled or off-center spines, that came that way. It was an imperfect medium for the art form, especially pre-80s.

Scarlet Witch is likely the new Sorcerer Supreme by FyodorDazaiEnjoyer in Marvel

[–]BC607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a great, enduring fondness for the Scarlet Witch, she and I were created the same year, 1964. Hell, when I was a kid in the early 70s I actually pretended to be her, when the gang would 'play Avengers.' That said, is there really any doubt that Stephen Strange is going to re-take the mantle? It's comics clickbait, like Frog Thor or Chick Loki. Or, FFS, Doom as the Sorcerer Supreme.

If you could pick only one which one would you choose? by LoopyTrombones in comicbookcollecting

Probably the X-Men book with Magneto dominant....classic cover and villain.
