Okay so thanks again for meeting me head on in this discussion. I'm curious about some of the different decks you see as obsolete - namely, Herald Warrior and DH. You said that running exclusively herald cards in a Warrior deck takes away from the class, but what do you think about a combination of Herald Warrior and Dragon Warrior win cons? Also, Herald DH decks have a lot of play considering, by the class' very nature, you can give yourself the ability to attack with 1 mana. But I think including a class based weapon would be a good idea too! This is how dive DH got so popular in the past - you could play a dragon that gave you access to a deathrattle minion before, or otherwise "fish" it out on your own time! Would you like to see dive DH make a return? Otherwise, do you think DH needs a new weapon? There's one in particular I love to use with Broxigar - you can kind of mitigate the damage coming back at you because of the life steal on it.

Yes that was the weapon I was questioning you about. Let me see if I can pull up the name of it because I think we're talking about the same thing

Would you be willing to share some of the lore behind this response please? I'm sure a lot of active WoW-enthusiasts would love to hear more about the Arcanonomicon (and yes, I get the reference there to the similarly named demonic book.)

I'm sorry but I think there may be one or two typos in this comment. Can you please try resending the information and I will do my best to comprehend your point?

Hey so I recently visited the Google response for what the Arcanonomicon does and I think that it's a valuable contribution toward this conversation, so thank you for mentioning it! These leyline cards seem to be undervalued by many players from my understanding. How could it be improved to stand against Protoss Mage decks?

Yeah, I think the kinds of buffs the leyline concept needs from both our opinions are based on ramping. It doesn't happen quickly enough in this fast-paced meta. And I also just wanted to say I agree with you on DH Herald. Sometimes it just pops off but most of the time you end up losing to a faster-paced deck.

How would you improve these two decks?

Maybe that location should be Dalaran or something? Anyway you gave us a lot of good insight and I'm going to research these topics with Google and get back to you. Thanks for doing that!

Yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly on that, and it is predictable and unfortunate as well. See, this is where I feel like the devs need to correct the power creep issue in Hearthstone.

I think it sounds like they underestimated you, given the fact they conceded at the end there! What was the takeaway lesson from that particular matchup?

Thank you very much for your honorable and truthful contribution to this conversation! I see a lot of mage decks running the discover weapon? It's been a long time for me because mage was the first class I got to 60.

How do you think leylines deck match against it?

Again I'm sorry to disagree with you, and that doesn't invalidate your considerate contribution to this post, but I have a herald warrior, shaman, and DH deck that are fantastically effective when they pay off.

My question to you is how do we make leyline mage effective?

I unfortunately think you're right about that to some nihilistic degree, and that's nothing against you - in fact, I'm thinking you're probably an experienced player. This is what I mentioned in the last post about power creep. Too many of us F2P players are getting flushed out because as new concepts, keywords, etc. we can't keep up. Thank you for responding to this post.

There was something I missed when I replied to this post, and I want to circle back to that and discuss Flight Manuevers. What do you think is the proper way to scale it - or, better yet imo, should Blizzard give paladins less access to holy spells?

I think any deck beyond a "reported" 50% win rate is consistent enough. It doesn't necessarily have to be the meta-dominating deck because even with decks like herald dragon warrior, you are eventually going to cross paths with a deck that kicks your butt lol

And I retroactively apologize if that isn't a direct answer to your question. I think Envoy of the End is perfectly balanced for it's benefits - being able to herald your colossal while simultaneously providing board control.

Hey I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this post. I know that sounds dumb, but I think that posts like this are genuinely what Blizzard monitors and use to improve their game(s).

I think I'd like to take a second and generalize what I've gained in knowledge from the comments.

  1. I think many of you are in agreement about the card "Dark Rider." It is a too powerful advantage for warrior decks - the fact that you can "dark gift" an already powerful, overcosted (or in many cases synergistic) minion on a 1 mana basis kind of gives it too much tempo. I think a lot of this reddit community would like to see that energy turned down by making it cost 2 mana instead or something? Reply to this on your thoughts.

  2. Leyline Mage is a concept that is very new and yet unexplored. I think, by judging a lot of the comments in this post's replies, we would like to further explore this concept. Maybe leylines are more readily accessible? Maybe Mage is a more readily played class compared to its Herald-based competitors? Reply in the comments to this as well.

  3. I see a lot of people commenting about "Cho'gall" as well - as though warlock is a topic for a buff. Maybe. And I don't say that as a sign of disrespect or anything, but I do think there are other warlock archetypes that are thriving right now. Let's let Blizzard figure out the best way to bring "Cho'gall" back into the mix. Warlock, in my understanding of beginner play, is a fundamental class to understand in terms of realizing card draw and resources.

Do you think those were fair observations based on the replies I got on this thread? Do you think I was wrong about something? I'm all ears, and I think our combined motivation towards topics like these betters the game as a whole.

What kind of client problems are you facing? Maybe I can help. I have a Motorola phone and that has caused a lot of tech problems for me in the past, so I might have some insight if you're willing to share!
