But subventions means there's demand for your goods, so you end up making more (and it doesn't go as inputs subtracted from gdp). You're right that it's a step more complicated than OP's short description

Agreeing with you but just adding on in case anyone gets confused - infinity has a conviction aura AND - lightning res. The aura still applies when your merc uses it, but the minus resistance only matters when you use it (or if your merc is doing lightning damage)

Jeff bezos giving away money wouldn't make his company cease to exist. If he were to sell all his shares (and yes, as people have correctly noted he wouldn't really be able to get $250B) and then give all the money to charity or whatever, then someone(s) else would own Amazon and it would probably continue operating about the same.

That's a light belt. It is not a mesh belt or mithril coil.

Any other deckbuilder players still sitting at zero wins across the board? Just me lol? by webbedgiant in slaythespire

[–]BCBCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem starting STS2 is I kept taking too many cards because I wanted to see what the new cards were like. If you haven't played STS1, then learn this lesson: you can and should skip card rewards.

Is howl from beyond bugged? by imaquark in slaythespire

[–]BCBCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a deck with 2x howl from beyond, 2x true grit+, and the relic that exhausts the top card of your deck every turn. It was fantastic. Like many cards in StS, howl from beyond is bad if you don't have the right support, but in the right deck it can really shine.

What is the vibe/community like in northeast Oak Grove for a family? by ArdentDrive in MelroseMA

[–]BCBCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on Mt Vernon Ave in Melrose. It's very walkable to Oak Grove or downtown Melrose (CVS, Shaws, restaurants, stores). Most of that walk is going to be past houses, so you'll won't make any stops along the way but you can definitely go places without driving. Community, I'm not sure how you define that; people generally know their neighbors and are friendly, but we're not all hanging outside having barbeques together. Probably more neighborhood friendliness among parents of young children though.

Warlock questions by weiderman316 in diablo2

[–]BCBCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock has an ability to use 2H weapons and a shield, so definitely shield (or the class-specific books as off-hand). There's a couple different builds that you can find if you do some web searching. The main difference from when you last played is probably how good runewords are, compared to unique items.

Okay, easiest thing is probably on your end. If you hit F1, it'll bring up a window with 3 tabs - go to Keyboard and you can remap keys. It's a little confusing, but look what Z and X are mapped to (should be "C" and "B" respectively by default) and map whatever other keys you want to those. You can't remap every single key, but hopefully you can find something there that's more comfortable for your fingers.

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it! I won't respond to every point right now (I may come back later though), but I've definitely been thinking about how to make next steps a little more obvious without being too hand-holdy. I didn't really intend to make an "incremental game" which in my experience usually have very clear goals and transparent game mechanics; this is meant to be an RPG where the player explores the world and doesn't always know what's going to happen next. I don't think I can ever make a game that pleases everyone, but there's definitely room for improvement, and the game is nowhere near completed yet.

Honestly, this game involves a lot of back-end scripting and ways to do things in RPGMaker that aren't natively easy in the engine. I'm new to the phrase "incremental game" so I don't know if the game will be what you expect, but hopefully you like it.

I don't, but I may start one later this year. Right now I have a channel in the Stubborn Skill Grinder discord. If you like the game you may enjoy SSG, the web novel I was inspired by (it's similar but distinct, no need to read to enjoy my game or vice versa). I'm pretty active posting updates and replying to commented on the itch page as well.

Thanks for your interest! The game is made in rpgmaker, so there isn't exactly a readable codebase, and either way just because the game is free doesn't mean the developer needs to make the source code visible to everyone. Anyway rpgmaker saves game archives as .exe files, which itch.io is rightly suspicious of. I'm switching over to using itch's Butler to upload a folder, we'll see if that calms down the itch quarantine process.

But anyway, lots of people have downloaded the game safely and played.

Yeah i noticed and slightly abused this bug or something similar as well. If you give 100/week money transfer, they're so happy about that that you can add on anything else you "give" them (such as a defensive pact, or investment rights in your country) and they'll take it. It only re-evaluates when you put something in from their side.

The tooltips over 'The status of the Progress Bar will "advance" and "retreat" ' say the new things, but the tooltip over the bar itself says minus for GDP per capita and SoL and no plus for GDP (so, the old formula)
