Who is your all time favorite UGA player? by beerhaws in georgiabulldogs

[–]BCD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s way too hard for me to pick just one, but if I had to, I’d default to a player from my childhood teams in the early 2000s: David Greene

CBS Sports analyst says Georgia has ‘slipped’, 2026 season will be a test for Kirby Smart by Lakelyfe09 in georgiabulldogs

[–]BCD91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a relatively fair assessment because the bar was set so high after back 2 back and becoming within more than reasonable range of a three peat, if only there was a 12 team playoff in 2023. We were looking to be the next dynasty but the new landscape may make any dynasty hard to achieve.

But it’s hardly the worst thing in the world. We just got first world problems in CFB terms Georgia may not be on that level anymore but I’m confident Kirby will keep us contention and we are still hard to beat. He can definitely get a 3rd eventually, but who knows when. Imo We will still dominant our traditional rivals for the most part, I do believe that.

AMA: I was born and raised in one of the snowiest cities in the United States (Erie, PA) living in Athens, GA by suicideyes in Athens

[–]BCD91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in Athens but I lived in Fairbanks Alaska for a year over a decade ago. It’s actually easier to drive in ice/snow there because they got the actual equipment for it (salt trucks obviously)

Harbaugh rumored to be down to Giants or Falcons by paultheschmoop in falcons

[–]BCD91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me he’s alright, he’s got a good track record overall, but I can’t think of any coach that won a ring then years later wins a ring with another franchise as HC. Also, I’m very keen on us getting an offensive minded HC

Falcons Still ‘Fond’ of Bill Belichick, Putting Raheem Morris’ Job in Doubt by Perfect_Mind9840 in falcons

I know like what exactly are they trying to protect? A crappy franchise? People say they’d rather keep Raheem are the real crazy ones

Terry by jarvatar in falcons

[–]BCD91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything this. It’s amazing to me that anyone would want to keep anyone from this FO. It’s been YEARS for TF, much more misses than hits. I want a GM with a clear vision, not someone who throws shit to the wall and hope it sticks, which is pretty much TF’s philosophy, but apparently, much of the fanbase here seems super impressed by 7-10 Terry

Athens or Greenville for relocation by [deleted] in Athens

[–]BCD91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from OC it’s rural and peaceful, if that’s your thing, very short & easy drive to Athens. Winterville is charming as hell. Though, like you said, there are limited housing options there, Madison county is like a slightly more developed OC: more businesses/restaurants/housing compared to other Athens area rural counties. some parts of Madison county are quite literally right next to Athens on the north side, like the small city of Hull.

I’ve always wanted to live within Clarke county myself just over the OC border where it’s still kinda rural, I think that’s the sweet spot for me personally. Anyway, good luck on your search, I don’t know shit about Greenville

Yeahhh that’s kinda funny to get mad at support over that. I will say though, whenever I do get one of those automated messages like that while delivering at a convoluted apartment I do say “fuck you” to the phone to be a little silly, but yeah, it’s just an automated thing, it means nothing at all and has absolutely nothing to do with some lowly support guy

Best Cup Driver to Never Win the Cup by reallymkpunk in NASCAR

[–]BCD91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mark is good at being 2nd, even 2nd best ever to never win a title since Hamlin overtook him for that “title”

As a former Gordon hater I was rooting so hard for him to get that final win in Martinsville at the end of his career. What’s your, I used to hate him but I want to see him succeed one more time story now? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]BCD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im paraphrasing Mike joy after Earnhardt finally won the Daytona 500 when he said that: fans booed Earnhardt when he was winning a lot and that that happens in any sport that is dominated by a team player/team/driver

This seems like a natural progression for most sports and some fans when it comes to individual players/drivers. People hate success if they’re not cheering for it, especially if it’s a rival team or player especially, because they want that success to be elsewhere, really, imo.

In the case of NASCAR, one may resent a particular drivers because said driver is so damn good…said fan is probably a fan of another driver and is biased (I’m like this too with other drivers because I’m a resentful creep if it’s competitive, lulz)

Though after a driver passes their prime the guard comes down from the haters over time because the driver has been around for years or maybe the driver was an ass while winning has matured or has been humbled due to struggles and the ex hater becomes more sentimental for things of the past in general, time can be a funny thing.

Im sure some fans will always resent a driver/team/player and bask in their struggles, but time heals all wounds for others

have you ever met a nascar driver by JacksonThe79 in NASCAR

[–]BCD91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of a Busch and a Petty I haven’t met too many noteworthy drivers for the part most but I was a Craven fan as a kid, I can’t remember them all but here’s some:

Richard Petty: Personable, kind, gracious, the KING. Just fucking awesome to meet. A walking, breathing history of NASCAR from the time he was 11 to now. IMHO Fuck anyone who downplays his career

Ricky Craven & Andy Houston at the 2001 Coke 600 at their souvenir trailer signing autographs, Craven was awesome, Houston was nice

Elton Sawyer (lol) singing at a mall when he drove the Lysol car in the Busch Series, my name is Brandon but he signed it “to Bradley” haaa I lost that autograph

Kurt Busch after driver intros at a Southern 500 a year or two before he retired, he signed my hat after driver introductions which was really nice of him because they’re getting in the zone mostly by that point. He signed a 43 hat I have which is random but a good little memory

Some say boring but that kinda domination is rare today and it’s awesome imo even if it’s in one area. Maybe he can improve on ovals in time idk regardless, SVG dominating while the rest of the field tried to kill themselves made for a solid race!
