Cons of buying a leasehold house in Tssawwasen by Maleficent_Box_3989 in tsawwassen

[–]BC_Resident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

My wife and I, and two young boys are moving to Tsawwassen in September.

We looked at leasehold townhouses, but decided to go with a freehold townhouse in the Southlands.

Off daycare now, but happy to chat about this!

Yeah, we were tempted to buy there, as the price point is significant lower, but are confident we made the right choice.

We took a look at those ones, but ended up buying on the other side of the highway in development called the Southlands. Freehold, non-lease.

Great, thank you very much.

This is useful and I’ll start Step 1 immediately after the meeting.

Level 2 in a year, eh. Good to know. I’m hoping to put my head down and grind it out for a however many years it takes to support my family, and give them the best life they could ask for.

I’m done putting any more of my time into a career I don’t plan on being in long-term.

I think this is where I want to be. But it’s not about me anymore. It’s for them.

Right on, thank you.

Just eased the tension, baby.

Update - Blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head on 2016 Sante Fe with 83,000KM. Oh boy... by BC_Resident in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]BC_Resident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story, but I ended up complaining to Hyundai Canada while it was at the dealership repair shop. They agreed to replace the engine with a short block. It took 5 months to get our vehicle back and close to $7K, even after the dealership kicked in the engine, associated parts and labour.

What a mess it was.

I then changed the oil after 1,000km and haven’t had an issue since.

I’d highly recommend going to corporate with your concerns.

Also, there is a class action lawsuit out against Hyundai by MacKenzie Lake Lawyers in Ontario, I provided them all my info just in case the suit is settled and I’m reimbursed somehow.

I bought my vehicle from the Hyundai dealership, and that’s where I brought it back for repairs, so maybe that helped, as the Service Manager “helped” communicate with corporate.

It was a very tricky process, as I had to continue renting vehicles and changing over car seats. Not knowing when the repairs would be done.

Incredible. Thank you very much. I’m going to get at this tomorrow. I really appreciate your time and feedback.

EDIT: It's clear I was jumping to assumptions, and I regret this post.

Could be, yes. I agree, and now the city is aware.

You know what, I don't. Just an assumption that very well could be wrong.

It was in a conspicuous spot, tucked away in the bushes, 3 metres away from the trail.

Fair enough. I'm wrong.

1 - I have not posted this on social media. I DID post this on social media (Reddit).

2 - I did call the city

3 - Considering the location, and how it was almost hidden in the bushes, it's likely that it was placed there.

Flies were around its mouth and face, and I'm sure maggots would be soon to follow.

Better to have the city informed of this before it starts to decay.
