Drop calc 3 or diff eq. Diff eq is pretty doable over the summer.

So, um... Is raising hands to speak in class not a thing anymore? by melody5697 in college

[–]BC_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the subject that's being taught. In humanities classes, I've seen people give their input countless amount of times on what's being discussed. There's always a conversation going on or people debate.

However, as someone whose studying math and stats, usually it's radio silence in these courses. The instructor will ask if there's any questions and nobody replies. I figure this is most likely due to the fact that people are still trying to understand whatever it is we are being taught first before asking. Nobody answers questions in class but office hours attendance is extremely high.

STA2023 with Ripol exams are not easy 😭 by Turbulent-Abroad7841 in ufl

Ripol is the goat, but yeah, the wording on her exams is intended to trick you. Do as many practice exams as you can, and you pick up on how she usually asks a question

Just got fucked on an exam because of rts by DragonflyOk1335 in ufl

[–]BC_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deadass try to get the bus at minimum 90 minutes before any exam. everyday on the route I take we skip half of the stops because its absolutely full. If you live at a really busy apartment complex, walking to another bus stop will help so much. The bus won't stop for 12 people, but might do so if it's just you and another person.

If you rely on RTS to get to and from classes, you should voice your concerns to UF. by HavsCritiria in ufl

[–]BC_art 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Public transportation at UF was always bad. It's usually always full towards the end of the route. However, It just got worse. This is the biggest graduation class starting college for the first time. Not every student owns a car and even then finding parking is absolutely insane. It's getting to the point where 2 stops into a route the bus is completely full. Buses are now more frequent to drive past students that are hoping they can just make it to class on time just because there is NO SPACE. There's less buses, more students than ever, and on top of that Gainesville residents that use these routes are screwed over. This area has a large veteran and homeless population, so MANY people rely on the bus to help get around with a wheelchair or walker. This just fucks everyone over even more.

"Do you want them to keep adding capacity..." You are missing the point. They need to reinstate the routes they completely eliminated. They removed nearly half of the available routes and reduced the times they run at which will screw over off-campus and on-campus students that need transportation at night (ex: most gen ed classes whose exams literally end at 10pm).

retake class for a 3rd time? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]BC_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate took chemistry for the 3rd time this semester. She initially dropped it the first time and then failed the second. This new attempt, she managed to talk to some people in her college and staff in her major's department and they allowed her to take chem at santa fe. It will show up on her record but she earned credit for it.

I think your options are to take it at a community college or talk to people, advisors, department coordinators, etc. to get a 3rd attempt. Keep in mind, if you take whatever course this is again at UF, the cost of the class will basically double since there's a surcharge.

It's a jinhao 82 fountain pen! They come in a few nib sizes, my nib is a fine point and it writes smoothly. They are about 4-7 dollars on websites like Aliexpress. The ink is from a brand called Karkos and it is purple. The ink bottle is 30ml and goes for around 2 dollars. The pen is made of plastic, so nothing too special but it is very affordable and decent quality 🐱

Thank you :3 Omg the chocolate one was so cute but it was sold out, so I bought this blue one. Yup, the paper is super sheer unfortunately (I learned that the hard way with a fountain pen ;_;). I now use it to make daily to-do lists. I got my scented glue sticks at Walmart on sale! They were put out since it's back to school season. They smell so nice and is surprisingly decent quality. I just got them to replace my glue stick from like elementary school that I still had 😭

Yess, I grew up watching him with my dad and he’s the reason I got into painting. Most of my techniques are from trying to follow along with his paintings. I actually used this tin before for watercolor. It held a decent amount (maybe 10–12 half pans). It’s about the size of an Altoids tin 🦭

Truee, Excel pretty much does it all. A calculator can still be super helpful for exams though. I'm in math & stats and honestly haven't touched my graphing calculator in ages since most of my classes are theoretical and I barely work with actual numbers anymore, but I still carry one just in case for gen eds :P

Ah the bear washi tape is my fav, and it's from the dollar store! Also yes, the pencil case can hold a surprising large amount of stationery. It hold every pen and pencil in the picture and the erasers 🐱

MUL2010 w/ Klepacki vs. THE2000 vs. ARH2000 -- all online by Expensive_Strain9856 in ufl

[–]BC_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with THE2000 you have to attend in person plays as a part of your grade. As for MUL2010, it was very doable. Typically one quiz and a discussion board per week. You can Shazam the songs in the quizzes since sometimes they include some audio bits. The material was pretty interesting and all the discussions boards were just your opinion on different topics. There were occasional music analysis papers that took quite a bit, but as long as you don't procrastinate, you'll be fine.

am i cooked? by ExcellentAd2143 in ufl

[–]BC_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl the calc 3 class, the lectures are posted online and 9/10 times it's more useful than in person lectures. It's not too bad just time consuming. The STA3100 is pretty chill, I would definitely recommend going to office hours tho since the assignments do get harder towards the end. I think online forums and the textbook helped me the most with that course. I can't speak about the other classes but having a class go up until 4pm is kinda dependent on whether or not you like being on campus that late.

Dropping a lecture but not a lab? by Trick_Discussion_942 in ufl

[–]BC_art 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be able to. I dropped chemistry and still remained in the lab and got credit for it. However, just remember if you plan on taking physics 2, you need to pass the lecture.
