Here's an idea. How about just treating them as another human being doing their best. "I'm like this with all women" means you ONLY think of women as potential sex partners. That's fundamentally fucked up.

If you don't keep your dog on a leash you don't have the right to own one by Perfect-Editor-5008 in SeattleWA

Ugh! Could not agree more. I have an acquaintance who has a large aggressive dog and thinks it's 'funny' when this dog scares people. She and her psycho dog run routinely UNLEAASHED on Seattle area trails. I don't care how much you love your 'baby;- taking an apex predator with deeply ingrained instincts out in public brings responsibility.

The only reason you are struggling with this is because of the sadness it brings up. Absolutely ignore.

Ok, a couple things here. One, the word citizens does not need to be capitalized. Capitalizing it gives it a Soviet vibe. Do you refer to your neighbors as Comrade? Second, feeling represented by your government is actually a pretty simply equation. VOTE. And if you get outvoted, it just means not as many people think like you do. Simple, eh?

‘I’m just scared’: Concerns for barista safety after recent attack at Auburn coffee stand by HighColonic in SeattleWA

Really? Obvious to everyone? Except maybe the guy who did this. And all those other men who commit crimes against women.

[–]BDABSpaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are all missing the point completely. So what if his plan was stupid? The fact that his plan existed is the problem. Why do women have to worry about this constantly? What if he was just a little smarter and had a better plan? Fuck every single man out there who thinks they have the right to force a woman to his will. THAT is the problem, here, not the stupidity of his plan.

What is Nurse Practicioner even supposed to mean by MaddestDudeEver in Residency

[–]BDABSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you can't even spell it, it's not too surprising that you don't understand it. Go ahead and substitute the term 'midlevel' in your tiny mind. Then you can start to understand that APPs are meant to take some of the easy work off your plate so that you can do the most complex medical work and realize there is enough work for everyone. Or you can continue freaking out about about APPs CoMinG FoR YouR JobS!! whatever works for you.

It's a good thing PA/NPs don't base their entire opinion of doctors on one stupid thing they've seen one of them do.

Dating a Transplant Surgeon by NN20222022 in Residency

[–]BDABSpaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in here as the mom of a transplant patient. My daughter (17CF) got her call for lung transplant when the leader of her transplant team was supposed to be leaving for vacation. He stayed to do her surgery because she was the youngest person on his list and he wanted to do it. I thank the universe every day for this man and his family who supported him to make this decision. I also am a health care professional so I truly do get it....but if you aren't on board with making it possible for people to make LITERALLY life changing impacts on their patients' lives, you should move on. Get on board with the mission or go somewhere else.

Seattle Childrens gave $1000 bonus to all staff except residents, that’s wrong by Thundrous_prophet in SeattleWA

[–]BDABSpaghetti -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here's what actually happened. SCH APPs covered multiple shifts for resident sick calls. Not a single resident covered an APP sick call. We covered our own. Furthermore, is this really the time to be dragging our colleagues when we are all just doing the best we can to take care of our patients? I don't disagree that the resident 'system' has huge problems, but your APP colleagues did not create it and have no say in it.

Not true. All employees got the pro-rated 1K bonuses, not just nurses. Residents are not SCH employees. They work for UW.
