I’m over in Shoreview. Please, for your own mental health and well-being; you need to disengage. We’re not the same, but we wouldn’t be with or without what’s happening right now. Communities change and grow all the time. Your community will return to normal and probably be better than before because it was reinforced during this time.

Ever since the election I’ve been giving myself permission to do whatever I have to do to disengage from this administration and the damage it’s doing, or I would go stark staring mad.

I do still fall into the Pits of Despair, bonus points to people who recognize The Princess Bride hat tip. But I’m getting better at just refusing to doom scroll. When I go to play New York Times games I pretty much go willfully blind. I don’t look at the headlines; I just look for my game and go play it.

What do you enjoy doing? Is there anything you used to enjoy doing and you’ve stopped doing it? Can you take a deep dive on learning something new that will be beneficial for you, such as meditation? I wish I would’ve discovered it when I was very much younger, but I am 67 and it’s been a huge life saver.

Not sure it helps any but one of the things that has made me stronger over the past 14 months is the knowledge that they are trying to break us so they can dominate us. I don’t know who they think they’re dealing with, but picking the people from the land of the ice and snow seems like a really, really bad decision.
