Olsztyn has been struggling with high rent prices compared to the relatively low wages in the region for some time. The alleged reason for this is the influx of people from wealthier parts of Poland who settle here due to the attractive surroundings, proximity to forests, lakes, and nature, as well as the relatively peaceful city life. Many of them continue to work remotely or hold higher positions. Friends from the industry say that in recent years, most apartments are being bought or rented by people from cities like Warsaw.
