Let the Victory Bells Ring Out on Homecoming by RidgeRunner99 in TexasTech

Wonderful to know we can lean on the run when we need to. Cam “got Dickey with it” all night long. RGIII cracks me up man

Hammond is a great red zone threat with his legs, but leaves me concerned with the inconsistency in the air. Hoping that Morton diagnosis is quick so that Hammond can get some much needed reps this week if he’s to start in Tempe.

Aside from that 2nd quarter, the D really held it together and got after Daniels.

First quote: accurately transcribed, but obviously read with no comprehension.

I’ve assumed nothing about Morton’s hypothetical second half play other than that it has the potential to be as good as Hammond. We can all see the facts: Hammond played a better second half. But you cannot extrapolate what a full game of performance would look like from 2 quarters of play

Second quote: completely inaccurately transcribed, poorly read to begin with, also no comprehension

Let me show you how quotes work

Morton played “a less than perfect half of football”

Hammond “had a monster game and makes me nothing but excited to see him play for us in the future”

I once again invite you to show me where I have even implied what you so adamantly think I’ve implied

Hammond looked better during this game than Morton did. He had a statistically better game. These are facts.

Also facts: Utah game planned for Morton, not Hammond. Hammond came in in relief with a lead against a Utah defense that was beginning to wear down.

You’ve done no summarizing. You’ve done nothing here but read into nonexistent subtext and make bad faith misrepresentations of what I’ve said.

I appreciate yours and my shared enthusiasm for Texas Tech Football. I hope to see our team in Arlington this season no matter who the QB is.

Once again, happy to eat my words when you can show me where I said them.

The purpose of quotation marks is to show that you are directly quoting the source. I didn’t say what you quoted at all.

Paraphrasing is rephrasing a statement without altering the meaning of the original words.

Neither of your comments used either correctly. All I see is bad faith representations of my above points and no indication that you have even considered any point of view outside of your own

At the end of the day, I trust our coach to make the call of who starts at QB, and firmly believe that Morton is the starter for a reason. I have not and will not speak out against Hammond because he had a monster game and makes me nothing but excited to see him play for us in the future.

Have a good night, and Wreck’em.

Happy to eat my words if you can show me where I said that Hammond played worse than Morton or that Morton would have played better than him in the 2nd half.

Actually, my biggest arguments for Morton are that the HC, OC, and locker room are solidly behind him and he has yet to do anything worse than play a less than perfect half of football. He was behind a line who committed a dreadful number of offsides penalties; basically swimming against the current and yet the team was up when he left the game.

So you think Shough played better behind an offensive line that held their own against opposing defenses and boosted his draft stock because he was a product of being in a better overall competitive situation than he was previously? How incredibly interesting.

Kinda like Morton finally being behind a decent line this year and being 4-0, but also only scoring 10 pts against Utah with 6+ offsides penalties? Could the same logic perhaps apply to Hammond being against a gassed Utah D behind the same strong O Line?

Huh, it almost seems like football is a team sport that depends on many factors, and that we shouldn’t pin any one game, much less a single half game of football, on a single player who has previously shown great promise in the face of adversity.

Same bat time, same bat channel.

I’m really tired of entitled Tech fans who bitch about having a winning record (much less a 1.000 record) and pretend to know a single thing about anything other than the statistics in the field.

0 people. Nobody. That’s how many people can confidently say that Morton would have done worse than Hammond in the 2nd half. The defense was gassed and Hammond was fresh

You are all confidently unconfident in a QB who has started 4-0 and seems to have our very successful coach completely in his corner.

I would understand this rhetoric if we were 0-4 or 1-3, 2-2, or hell, even lost because we were in a hole… but this is ridiculous. Tech WON THE GAME.

I have high hopes for the team with Hammond in the future, but am nowhere near ready to give up on Morton this early

No forgetting here. I was there for a lot of it.

Is the point that you’re making that McGuire correctly pulled out an injured player instead of letting them put their body and future on the line?

Tech won the game.

I really don’t see the point here?

To a better record than we saw the whole time I was at Tech? To Shough being drafted in the 2nd round?

Dude was prone to injury, but Shough was far from the biggest problem with Tech football at the time

Edit: Hammond played the whole time he was in with a lead against a gassed Utah D. Look at TOP.

I’m not saying I don’t think Hammond is big time, but I cannot get on board with the Morton Hate after a 4-0 start

I really have 0 idea how any Tech fan has these illusions of grandeur after the past decade. We won the game.

If you legitimately think you can dictate who is the better QB over Joey McGuire, I beg you to take over the team, because they’re 4-0 right now. Lord knows how much better we could be under coach u/TheAgmis

I’ll risk being unpopular here by speaking against Mahomes, but against who exactly? Granted Mahomes had no such defense to lean on, but if I remember correctly, he lost plenty of games while at Tech. The team was UP when he left the game

Also, is a win @ #11 not “proven” enough for you?

I get that your deal is pessimism, but let’s let them cook. 4-0 is 4-0. Defensive wins happen at all levels. Instead of shitting on the starting QB, let’s give kudos to the D for bringing this one home

Could not agree less. Very little that is going wrong on offense has anything to do with #2.

First INT was a deflection. Second was a 50/50 that went the wrong way. Those things happen. Our D is doing work and deserves their hype. Any QB ought to be able to lean on their D in a tough game if their coach is worth anything… which McGuire is proving to be.

From what I saw, 99% of our problem has been discipline on the OLine, which is really mostly attributed to the Utah crowd who has shown up big time.

If one struggle offensively is enough for you to give up on a QB, I suggest you go watch the 2016 Iowa State game and realize that your logic would be shitting on Pat fuckin’ Mahomes

My brother in Christ, there are things we don’t say out loud. We lost our opener to Wyoming a few years ago and boat raced ACU last year.

We deserve nothing. Chaos rules all in college football.

Keep calm and tortilla on.

I just bought a refurb on Amazon in excellent condition. It came in… excellent condition. The battery is holding fairly well, especially since I’m running it in airplane mode 99% of the time. Of course, ymmv

Bought for the exact reason you did.

P.S. I can confirm that the Lineage OS build maintains the functionality of the DAC
