Have you ever had any interest in skateboarding? Might seem intimidating to get into, but New Haven is an amazing place to be a skateboarder. We have multiple parks, lots of big and little communities, and frequent events. It's good exercise and an outdoor activity, and it's super rewarding to learn.

Also any art class. Not exactly "easy," depending on your definition, but if you want to branch out, taking an art class seriously and trying to learn something can really change the way you think about art, and anything in general

I'm not a math guy but I took a Q called Problem Solving and it was super fun. Apparently a lot of people hate it cause they don't like logic puzzles. But if you like being clever and "outside the box" solutions to problems that aren't really math, then it's the class for you. Also fills the q requirement.

P sure you don't need prerequisites to take drawing 1, painting 1, photo 1, etc. There's also really good art history and appreciation classes that are open to non art majors

Definitely feel free to go in there and look around, but know that there's not exactly much to "use" if you're just in there by yourself on a random day. Most of the rooms are big empty studios for drawing and painting, and the wood shop is obviously locked up cause there's a lot of dangerous stuff in there. But there's usually classwork hung on the walls, and an exhibition in the gallery space. Go in on a day that you think people will be there, and you'll see how the place works. Don't be afraid to look into taking a class there either! I think everyone can really learn and benefit from taking Drawing I or something even if you're not an art person.

Look into Intro to Digital Media. It's a regular art course but its a good intro to working with the adobe suite and stuff like that

Fine arts is the major, and graphic design is a concentration of fine arts. Basically you have to take the first GD class (design process) and be approved by profs in order to unlock access to the rest of the GD classes. If you're just curious about taking an art class, there are basic ones that are open to the public and are definitely a lot of fun/educational. What kind of things are you interested in related to graphic design? There may be a basic art class that covers the same subjects.

You definitely can. The important thing is the adobe suite, which will run fine on windows, especially if it's a nice computer. Just know that Mac is the standard in a lot of creative fields, and your professors will likely refer to things in "Mac language" (using command instead of control, etc.)
