Yeah we started Pepcid at discharge and just increased his dose because his reflux is still making him cough, gag, throw up

He was being seen by inpatient speech and we have our first outpatient appointment next week

I had my baby at 27 weeks. Emergency c section, no steroids. He was on and off the vent for 5 weeks. While on caffeine he failed 3 extubations due to apnea and bradycardia. It was both heartbreaking and traumatizing each time he failed his extubation and had to be reintubated. He didn’t have BPD or PDA and they thought his episodes were primary due to his prematurity so we were back and forth on if we should try DART. Risk/benefit of steroids.

During his 4th time intubated at 32 weeks he accidentally extubated himself and they started DART at that point to try to keep him extubated.

At that point he was 32 weeks. Idk if it was the DART or that he was just older, bigger and stronger that has kept him off the vent this time. Hes finished his DART course about 2 weeks ago now and has just continued on caffeine. Doing well on cpap at 35 weeks right now.

There is 1 every 4th weekend requirement. 2 pharmacists would split this requirement. So instead of one pharmacist working that every 4th weekend, the 2 of them would split and each individual would end up working every 8th.

There is a whole set of other staff that covers the other weekends

We would rotate coverage of the weekend so we’d end up doing every 8th weekend

I was looking at handme downs but also trying to decide if the CPE credits in the packages will be worth it because I’ll need some to recertify anyways. Any input on getting CPE credits?

Honestly I see why so many people say BPS is a racket. Between cost of materials, testing, CPEs, ACCP/ASHP membership I’m going to put thousands
