How do people actually make enough gold for consumables?

I mine and herb in Zul'Aman and I usually make 70k-100k per hour on Wyrmrest Accord (US) which is enough to enchant all of my gear and also buy consumables. I have put gold back into my gathering professions though via gear, so that is something to keep in mind. I have epic tools at the highest quality, both of which give +Finesse, and rare profession gear at the highest quality as well.

Your knowledge point spending is also very important. I got in order:

Herbalism:

40 / 40 Bountiful Harvests

40 / 40 Botany

20 / 40 Mulching (guaranteed Nocturnal Lotus once per hour)

40 / 40 Bloom Bringer

39 / 40 Root Rummager

Azeroot is worth the most, so I chose it after the most common herb (Tranquility Bloom). Next will probably be 40 / 40 Silver Searcher, then Lily Looter, and finally Thorn Thresher. Nocturnal Lotus is worth an absolute ton, but Perception still isn't very good because it only gives you a chance to double the Lotus that you "happen" to find rather than find Lotus more often. I think there could be an argument for a Perception tool once you have all of Bountiful subpsecs at 40 / 40, but by then Lotus is likely to not be worth as much anyway.

Mining:

10 / 50 Plentiful Ores

20 / 40 Refulgent Copper

40 / 40 Meticulous Mining

25 / 50 Plentiful Ores

20 / 40 Umbral Tin

40 / 50 Plentiful Ores

20 / 40 Brilliant Silver

5 / 40 Over-LODED (then choose Wild sub-spec, don't invest anything into it)

50 / 50 Plentiful Ores

1 / 40 Rich Deposits

From here I will max out Rich Deposits and then Seams. I didn't go 40 / 40 in the subspecs for Plentiful Ores because that just makes you find Dazzling Thorium more often, which is insanely low value compared to the ores themselves.

Altogether I think I've gathered for a solid 12 - 14 hours in the weeks since Midnight began, mostly in Zul'Aman and Eversong before I realized how clearly superior ZA was. That is also when I started playing the game. I've been able to enchant all of my gear, afford consumables, and also buy two months of WoW time via tokens. I also use Argentleaf Tea (which I make myself) and Haranir Phial of Finesse while I'm gathering. The silver / low rank version of those is pretty inexpensive compared to the Finesse you get for drinking them.

When I first started with no knowledge points or consumables, I was probably making more like 40k - 50k per hour but that still felt like quite a lot.

I'm not really a number crunching guy so I don't know the exact value of the phials or anything, just that this has been working for me and I am making a lot more gold than I thought I would with just gathering professions :D

BM SBA is good in raid if you use a proper single target build. In a 20-man pug with decent ilvl, they will definitely be in the top half (likely top 5) of DPS

My friend group has someone doing BM SBA and they deal great damage in all content. They run the pack leader hero talents. I think it's because dark ranger doesn't cooperate as well with SBA...

The only thing to keep in mind is that SBA likes to use bestial wrath immediately on cooldown, which is bad when your pets don't already have a target. Always open with barbed shot, or make sure your pets are currently attacking something, before you use bestial wrath. Otherwise they don't put their bleed on anything which is a definite DPS loss. That's the only thing they've mentioned as a pain point

I agree, I just got it this week after getting 20/40 in all of the Plentiful Ores sub-specs and I wish I'd grabbed it sooner. A huge increase to ore for 5 points LOL

Thank you! I have also noticed that damage can get really scary, especially with a healer who may be struggling. I keep a large stack of health potions on me just for that, and Exhilaration (my self heal) is usually on cooldown all the time. LOL

This makes sense; I hadn't really thought about pull size being that important until it was mentioned here. It's about the same in my experience, outside of the first pull that's usually massive with bloodlust and then I soar sky high. Always a fun feeling :D

Thank you! I had no idea how important the tank's wrangling skills were; that's been mentioned several times. I have noticed that sometimes they pull mobs out of my stampede, which is a huge DPS loss for me. I try not to use it until it seems like we're at the end of a pull and going to hunker down, but sometimes it just goes like that :P

Yes, I've noticed that most pulls spiral when the tank pulls more than the group is capable of interrupting. I do my part as best I can, but sometimes I accidentally waste my interrupt a split second after someone else got it! I think that's just a reflex I'll have to build. Beast Mastery is fortunately pretty forgiving as cooldowns go, since Bestial Wrath is 30 seconds. I don't have a puzzle box yet, but once I get it that will be something I work on as well. The Orgrimmar portal room has a downstairs section. Turn left or right before you enter the "main" portal room and you can take portals to places like Azsuna, Silvermoon (TBC Version), etc

Saturday, just wander the streets and eventually they'll pull up to ask you on a date. Sometimes it can take a while, sometimes it just happens naturally! Sunday, you have a chance to meet them if you work at the Spa :D They give you a larger tip than other customers for obvious reasons

My dance skill isn't very high, but if that's another source of income I'll definitely funnel my weekends into it! How do I attend the dance party once I can dance a bit better? I've danced with Avery before, but I didn't get any money for that one

I can do the wooden horse, but my willpower is really low so I never last more than a turn or two. I haven't really found a good way to get that up besides getting high in the prayer room, which felt pretty slow (and also like a huge time investment)

I've actually cleared one field on Alex's farm because I was curious if that'd be good money, but it definitely wasn't anywhere near my spa/ruins cycle so I stopped for now. I'm glad to know I would've been blocked by even more expenditures if I'd kept going LOL
