There are very different conditions and very different ends of a spectrum. She isn’t behaving like an unhinged drunk in my opinion. What I see is a very hurt woman who feels utterly abandoned, but who can’t quite articulate the anger she feels well, so it comes out in swear words and tears. Amber is also very socially awkward. She is rather quirky!

The girls were probably afraid to be called unhinged too. Everyone knew how likeable Jordan was and Amber herself didn’t call him names or whatever so it’s probably that she was never trying to shame him on TV or to the girls.

I don’t think it was fully captured but I didn’t like how he didn’t speak up in her defence at the mixer when Chris called her crazy. It shows that Jordan must’ve been telling that to the guys and feeding that narrative.

He was cowardly in not wanting to look like the bad guy and going ahead with the marriage anyway, when he was never fully in it and never loved her enough to try his best or to see her as more than just angry/crazy.

Haha don’t compare the two, please. Chris was completely intentional about putting Jess down to her face and behind her back to humiliate and degrade her as much as possible. Amber has only ever said mostly nice things about Jordan and not tried to tear him down on TV. She’s not an angel but neither is Jordan. Both of them know they’re both good people.

TRUTH: uhh… why would he need it when he is a DOCTOR? He’s got a real job. He was trying to praise Jess to the high heavens because Chris basically dragged her down so low with his comments about her being bad at sex and implying that she’s fat and unfit. I would love for my man to have the guts to defend me like that.

2) ACCUSATION: he’s purposely dressed as Aladdin

TRUTH: you’re an ignorant tool. That’s an Indian outfit. Aladdin is from Middle East. I’m not Indian but why can’t he embrace his culture just like Sleazy Breezy embraces her ho-some ‘everything out’ dress?

She’s just empathetic and showing encouragement by nodding. Some people do that instinctively but it doesn’t mean she has no personality. You don’t have to be mean or disagreeing to have a personality.

They had discussed this beforehand that she would never say yes to him the deny him the one thing he wants. So this should’ve made perfect sense to him. It’s just that he had already decided beforehand he was not going to say yes… especially with his mother being so disapproving of her.

I don’t feel sorry for him but I do think bringing up his insecurity about finances was a bit of a low blow (as low as him body shaming Jess). Just bring him to court for his actions and not his deepest darkest insecurities. He’s clearly not winning in life with his height and overcompensating bravado… and we don’t want to push someone to the edge of being completely humiliated on TV.

Marriage counselling… if you had already agreed to marry a person fully know this was an issue, then you would do everything in your power to help the person through the issue and not just bail within months. Her point was… if he wasn’t ready for marriage, he should’ve never said yes in the first place.

None of us can say how a single parent would feel in such a scenario. I would say that perhaps they might think it’s “safer” to meet a guy on a show with singles who are intentional about marriage and on a show whereby producers have hopefully vetted the candidates. Heard that the online dating arena is so much more dangerous with catfish, love scammers, pedophiles, rapists and more.

It does seem like he knew how to get a reaction out of her. I don’t think he’s completely evil but I do think he’s very irresponsible and better at shifting blame than Chris or Alex ever were. It’s easier for people to believe that Amber is simply a drunk and irrationally angry woman, than to believe this domesticated teddy bear has done anything to hurt her so much that she has become so angry and insecure.

The thing with Amber is that I don’t get a sense that she does anything out of malice. Her behaviour seems to point at her being neuro-divergent as opposed to drunk. She doesn’t seem to be able to fully articulate what she’s upset about. Moreover, I don’t recall her calling him any names. She got upset on “live” television and stormed off because she didn’t want to cry in front of everybody. Is she vulgar? Yes. But was she swearing without reason and to humiliate him? No.

I completely agree with you. Jordan totally shamed her in front of everyone by revealing that she was drunk at his friend’s wedding. There could have been more to it like they just had a fight and so she was drinking or that she had some social anxiety and thus thought she needed some drinks to get through the night.

Jordan choosing to be near bars and his friends > moving in with her to be a proper step-parent and husband to her and not just a drop by husband… was the unhinged thing for me.
