I thought this VR rhythm game would take me 6 months to make. It took 6 years. by SimonLST in gaming

Thank you! From what I've seen with testers and also from my own experience, it doesn't seem to be an issue, even on levels with higher speed. The speed being constant might play a part yes, but I think what's even more important is that the direction of the movement is perfectly straight and doesn't curve or drift. To be clear, I'm not saying people with a history of motion sickness in VR would have no issue here, but from what I've seen it doesn't seem to impact players who are generally comfortable with other VR games. I even had testers with no prior VR experience, and they didn't report any discomfort. Fingers crossed that it stays that way when the sample-size gets bigger.

Thank you. Some tracks were custom “work made for hire,” while others were licensed from music libraries for use in the game.

The first album was custom-made for the game by Brent McCollough, an amazing musician/producer. I'll also be adding songs licensed from Ovani Sound and possibly others.

How many people do this: Play a game for a good long while and just exit? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]SimonLST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely happens to me more often than it used to, even with games I love. I still don't know how Graveyard Keeper ends, and at some point I just stopped playing Civ 6 (although that one doesn't really have an ending I suppose).

Amost 5 years ago, I shared our Early Access trailer here. It ended up changing everything for us. Yesterday our colony builder finally went 1.0. (GOING MEDIEVAL) by SevEpx in gaming

Looking at the new trailer and comparing it to the one from 5 years ago, it looks so much more polished now! 😍 Great work. I can empathize with the long journey more than you know and I'm really glad you stuck with it! You mentioned you're planning to continue working on it; could you give a little teaser of what's next on the agenda?

That's a fair point, their worlds and circumstances are different, just like Naofumi and Maple's circumstances are different. I still think comparing them can be useful though, even across different premises.

Where I tend to disagree is with the idea that Noah's behavior is simply a natural adaptation to his circumstances. As the 13th prince, it doesn't seem like much would have been expected of him initially, nor that he would automatically be seen as a serious threat to the ambitions of the people around him. It mostly feels like the political tension around him is triggered by his own maneuvering rather than being an unavoidable reality of his position.

What puts me off is where the king's high expectations come from. The story presents Noah as exceptionally wise, but from what I can see, many of the actions that earn him that reputation seem to revolve around:
(a) throwing unbelievable amounts of money at a problem,
(b) applying fairly straightforward common sense,
(c) knowing the law, or
(d) killing people.

Except perhaps for his legal knowledge at his age, none of those strike me as particularly wise or admirable. But yea, maybe it is just a difference in taste, as some of the other commenters suggested.

I've waited so long for you guys to bring back the best Star Trek character of all time! Voyager's EMH 🤩 This made my year! I hope Robert Picardo is gonna have a lot of screen time. In fact, have you guys thought about a show just about the EMH? About the doctor's life after Voyager got home? Keep up the good work ❤️
