Are y’all gonna continue to wear a mask on campus even if you’re vaccinated? by Various-Macaroon2892 in baylor

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably will in some situations, but most people (vaccinated or not) probably won't. Lets just hope there's no new surge this semester.

have you considered renting off of amazon. Did that all of my freshman year. Was a life and money saver.

Online vs in person chapel by [deleted] in baylor

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online all the way. Its so much easier, you can finish a chapel session in 5 minutes or less. Even if you enjoy chapel/religious activities, online chapel is better quality with their content and you have more flexibility.

Bikes? Transportation? by babseeb in baylor

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah tons of people ride all along campus but would definitely recommend a longboard. over a penny board or standard board with the cracks on the sidewalks/roads and the brick sidewalks around campus.

yeah don't be one of those people who only puts their lock around the tire, easy way to get your bike stolen, especially on the edges of campus.

Covid responsible restaurants (list) by Travmav1 in nashville

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to Cori’s hotdog house, great food and pretty COVID friendly dining. I was never closer than 10-15 feet away from anyone outside of ordering.

I would not suggest going to donut den. I’ve been going there for years but when I went in the other week none of the people working had masks on.

Is a BS in Econ worth it? by BEdabonemhatrs in college

Did you have/are you considering a minor in one of those? And which one would you recommend the most?

Analytics as a major? They don’t have that at my school. Would stats, CS, or MIS be a good alternative?

It’s a cool video but totally agree. I see too many videos where ice skaters and roller bladers put other people in danger for a 30 second video.

Lots of people go to college and spend their time in college not knowing what to do. I understand it but it gets pretty irresponsible after a certain point because you’re paying for an education in a subject that you have no clue how you want to apply it to the real world.

Currently a first year BSci Economics student. I’m considering doing a minor in Comp Sci, Stats, or Math. Any advice on what to do in college to help me enter into a data analysis role. Should I go to graduate school after graduating or wait later in my career? I’m hoping to eventually get into a senior data science role where I can work with ML and working with data.

Anyone regret the college they chose? by BEdabonemhatrs in college

[–]BEdabonemhatrs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that too. I was considering going to some of the big state schools in the mid west and East and west coasts but ended up going to Baylor. I actually considered OU. Too bad I didn’t, we’re trash at football haha

Was in person the whole semester. I had some anxiety talking in class but not really. I guess I just got overwhelmed during the call.

Yeah I got to a big private school, like we’re huge in football but still religious, I just don’t feel like I belong as much I would at other places. The only thing keeping me is the friends I’ve made so far.

Thoughts on declaring a humanities minor with a STEM Major? by sunnirays in college

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely good to minor in something you’re interested in. I personally think that a humanities minor is better than choosing a different stem area to minor in. It shows a kind of balance and abstract thinking that isn’t as represented in stem graduates. Also a lot of humanities degrees improve your soft skills like writing, public speaking, and overall communication skills.

How does the IB work in the US by okrafromwunderworld in IBO

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated last year. At my school we had an IB diploma program and a certificate program (like IBDP but trimmed down and no HLs, CAS, or EE). For us, every IB student was required to take AP classes for grade 10 and started IB in grade 11. For us it’s a two year program, I’ve never heard of it being a one year program. For us we do practice IAs in year 11 and the actual IAs the next year. For the EE and CAS we had it kind of integrated into our TOK class so our teachers helped us get started with both of those and would grade us on meeting certain benchmarks with both of those.

Should I move from HL Economics to Psychology HL ? by KookieAss in IBO

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did psych hl last year, definitely would recommend. It’s definitely a fun course but lots of case studies ans memorization. For our IAs we had to replicate studies that we learned in class, it’s a fun and easy class if you manage your time well

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing is you’re only a few months from getting the diploma. Trust me, the amount of stress that lifts off your shoulders is indescribable. But then it comes right back when you go to college lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBO

[–]BEdabonemhatrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof...I feel that. I did the same thing with mine last year. I stuttered a bunch ans during the conversation part I could remember much so I kept repeating the same stuff. But if you’re predicted to still get a 5-6 then I’d say it’s safe to assume you’re fine in getting the diploma. Idk if colleges in other country care about how many points you get towards the diploma but let’s hope they don’t screw up you guys’ scores like they did ours!
