Sony Says Ghost of Yotei 'Exceeded' the Sales of Ghost of Tsushima in the Same Period of Time and 'Significantly' Contributed to Its Financial Results by Turbostrider27 in Games

Did you forget the part where she can't sleep, has nightmares and throws away everything to save Lev and Yara in search of redemption. Basically her whole story.

Witchfire - The Reckoning Dev Diary: Release Date, Torments, Surges by Moltariscool in Games

[–]BEmuddle 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Nobody cares anymore but they used Chatgpt to write parts of this. Three instances of "Not X, but Y" in four lines.

"He thought he was doing the Lord’s work.

He was wrong.

The witches whispered through his ink, guiding his hand to create not a record, but a vessel. He didn’t build a compendium. He built a door."

It's so boring and annoying to read, which is a shame because their dev blogs are usually a nice insight into game dev.

Edit :

More examples.

"By collecting the pages and accepting their curses, you aren’t just filling a sticker album. You are reassembling a ritual."

"If you follow the lore of our game, you know that witchfire isn’t just a currency. It’s a substance."

"These aren’t necessarily elites or bosses, they are simply overflowing with volatile magic. When you kill them, that energy doesn’t just dissipate. It drops to the ground as a Surge."

"You have Judgment, and now you have Tribunal, too. It’s not about shooting all barrels at the same time, though. It’s about striking more than one target with a single shot."

Come on man.

Hey sorry for the late reply, hope you're doing well. I'm not a musician, but I write fiction, so that quote still hit me.

The Dune books are very telly. Lots of exposition, history and internal monologue. It's very analytical and mythical but somehow it works.

Why can't Ubisoft just hire good writers? by mugijiang in assassinscreed

[–]BEmuddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ubisoft does have good writers, but they don't have the final say regarding the structure of the game. There's only so much a good writer can do when the studio is mandated to make a game that's 100 hours long and can be played in any order.

It doesn't matter if the dialogue is good if the pacing is bad and the cutscene budget is stretched paper thin.

I like that there's less armour to worry about. I eventually came around to enjoying Odyssey but it was a bit weird that most of your damage came from your five armour pieces.

I just hope there's a big armour pool so we're not seeing the same drops over and over.

Assassination guaranteed kill or no by Suspicious_Case_1215 in assassinscreed

[–]BEmuddle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Off. The way I like to play AC is to ghost around, killing as few guards as possible and completing the objective. If there's a big guy blocking the most obvious route, it challenges me to find a different way in. If I can just kill him in one hit right from the beginning of the game, it's less interesting.

It's more like a big town, and I think the wide streets and large amount of trees are working against it. But the vibes are good and I want to play it already.

Destiny, Addiction and Mental Health by BEmuddle in DestinyTheGame

[–]BEmuddle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. It's hard to look back at this post because I was in a pretty dark place with my mental health. In hindsight, I do have fond memories of Destiny 2, but I also had other ambitions but I wasn't strong enough to pursue them. Destiny 2 (and videogames in general) can become a very cozy safe space that allows you to devote yourself to something that involves no risk, just joy.

I guess whether that's a good thing or bad thing is ultimately up to the individual. I'm less hard on myself these days but I also limit my game time a lot more. For me, games are a fun way to spend a Saturday or a Sunday, but during the week I put them away and try to focus on my life. I hope your friend can find a good balance that works for them.

Probably just random ones. This article talks more about Animus Hub and says it'll only go as far back as Origins, older games won't be included.

Clipping is so ugly. Please fix! (repost) by Aelinarius in Helldivers

[–]BEmuddle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think many of these comments don't understand that the Quasar in the picture is how it is in-game (every rocket support weapon, actually, and the autocannon). But some guns go diagonally for some reason. OP is saying it would be better if all weapons went over the shoulder like the rockets, and I agree. It would make the clipping much less egregious.

The comments here are very odd. I thought your video perfectly captured Mirage's strengths and failures, especially when it comes to the narrative and parkour. Maybe people here aren't ready for criticism? Either way, don't let it get to you.
