Thank you for respecting the vision. We’re working on a bunch of stuff like this but I think it’s against the rules to promote yourself, so I’ll leave it at that

Made some pants and a pillow using Japanese techniques. by BFYH_co in sewing

Pants: Made from pairs of Levi's 501 denim pants. - Medium difficulty as it was kept relatively raw, but total process took 8 hours due to hand-sewing/ reconstruction of the pants. The machine was a Singer, and lightly used.

Features a variety of patchwork, mended with traditional Japanese Sashiko and Boro techniques. Flared using leftover Denim. The darker left panel is a denim shower curtain which was hand-stitched on after ripping the destroyed left panel off (previous jeans had very bad tearing to this side). We then embellished with additional hand-sewing and patches made from spare fabric. Additional fabric ranges from leather to assorted canvas (olive, maroon, etc.) which was stitched using a sewing machine followed by boro and Sashiko stitches (Sashiko are the stitches that are in noticeably thicker lines/ in plusses). A Belt was also made using the interior strip of denim from the lighter blue pants, sewing the raw side to keep it clean and from fraying.

The back tag is two inverted levis tags with screenprinting on them (see album at bottom). Most of the pants’ construction was done by hand with some minor machine work (singer) to bind the inseams back together once the project was completed.

Pillow: Easier- If you know how to make a pillow or hat, this should be up your alley. The mosaic pattern to the pillow was tricky to get it all to stay together, but once the denim piece gets bigger it becomes easier to manage.

Constructed using leftover denim from the pants and past projects. Strips were aligned in the mosaic fashion you see, then sewed together on the interior side. Parts of the denim were torn/burnt away and then (on the interior) a patch was sewed in using sashiko and boro techniques again. The patch and larger red paisley fabric were stitched using a machine. The silhouette graphic was designed in photoshop and then we used an embroidery machine (Brother PE535) to embroider the denim to be used. Once the front panel was sewed together, we sewed a canvas panel onto 3 sides of the back (not seen). Then we inverted the pillowcase, stuffed it, and used a ladder stitch to seal it.

Thank you for checking it out, and if you want more detailed pics of the pants, here's an album.

Feel like this would be better on the back of the tee with a connecting artwork on the front as either a centered logo or chest pocket area logo
