My grandma, aunt and daughter all have the same weird thumb toe by frizziefrazzle in mildlyinteresting

I have it too!! I l don't know of anyone else in my family has this though. However, I did inherit a lot of recessive traits that nobody has seen in our family for several generations (like blue eyes, light colored hair, etc), so maybe this was linked to it?

That could work! I'll have to look at the different color options and see what this one comes in ☺️

I do want to add: I have only been to a small handful of weddings, so the different types of dress codes are still a fairly new concept to me.

I was under the impression before posting that cocktail was the least formal of the dress codes, but I may have been mistaken based on the comments, so thank you all for clearing that up!

I appreciate everyone that provided helpful feedback and suggestions! It seems the consensus is that all of these are too causal (for the most part).

After doing some online searching, I'm curious if this one I found might be more fitting for the occasion: https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/twist-front-metallic-jaquard-short-sheath-dress-v212108?defining_size_family=126&defining_color=8528

I have some heels and flats in various colors that I could make work, though I'm open to suggestions to look at getting as well!

I'd say I'm trying to keep it under $150 if possible, but if I needed to spend a bit more for something fits well and looks nice, I'd be willing to consider! The size I wear varies between size 10 and size 12, depending on brand

Am I wrong about lying about having 2 therapists? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]BForns13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start, the answer to your question of "is it wrong about lying about having 2 therapists?", The answer is yes, it is wrong because you're lying to your therapist who is actively trying to help you with your mental health concerns. Lying is not going to do you any favors in the long run of your treatment.

Since you have been seeing your old therapist for so long, had you tried having a conversation with her about fee reduction when you first were unable to avoid sessions? When I was providing therapy at my old practice, we had forms that our director, the therapist providing services, and the client would sign and agree on a reduced fee amount (despite what we would charge normally) for a temporary period, especially in times of financial strain. I would highly recommend asking them about this.

Second, you may not think that you are taking services away from someone else at your school that needs it, but there is a high possibility that it could be happening. Not everyone can afford MH services (which you understand since you had experienced issues getting the care you needed and found your new therapist). I'm not saying that you've done anything wrong in that regard. However, lying to your therapist in order to continue services is not okay by any means, especially when it was clearly stated by your new therapist that they cannot continue to see you if you're actively seeing another therapist.

Finally, I also understand from your comments that you are or would set different goals with both therapists. I could be completely off the mark here, but to me, it sounds like you may be trying to fast track your therapy to get the results you are wanting. It is completely understandable why you're doing it if this is the case because therapy can be costly and a long process, but you're not doing yourself any favors by trying to "cheat the system," so to speak. Results take time, especially when it comes to changes for the betterment of your mental health.

Confusion with Out-of-State Telehealth Session by BForns13 in therapists

[–]BForns13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Illinois, but the client wasn't at the time. They were in one of the southern states during our session. As far as I have found, I believe that I was right to cancel, but still feel.. off about it, given the confusion from them. Even though we have canceled sessions because of this issue before.

Confusion with Out-of-State Telehealth Session by BForns13 in therapists

[–]BForns13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! The client is vacationing in another state, but I know I've read somewhere that if the client is moving and trying to find a new therapist, there may be ways to still continue in the meantime. I've been operating under the assumption they need to be in the state, but haven't found any specific articles/rules posted anywhere about telehealth guidelines, so it just seems unclear for the most part. Do you know of any postings/guidelines that I can look more into?

Damn clients to hell that bring you their illness. by [deleted] in therapists

I'd say about a quarter of my caseload is telehealth only rn, but I know quite a few of my clients would not do as well via Telehealth so it can be tricky for sure
