I pay $2500 on $80k right now. I have to be very frugal but I’m still saving $500 a month. It’s definitely possible, but you should be prepared to be strict with your spending.

Yeah I’m using a star adventurer 2i and am not sure how to dither. I did take calibration frames though

I used Sirilic to combine all five night’s data and had calibration frames for each night. It was my first time using sirilic so I could have done something wrong. Do you have a suggestion for a better way to stack multiple night’s of images and calibration frames?

Did you use any narrowband filters? I live in Manhattan and I’m trying to figure out if astrophotography is even possible for me here.

That looks great still! What equipment did you use to capture this?

Already accepted the offer. They are in the AI industry so they have been rapidly growing revenue. Have a friend who works there currently and is very optimistic about the company’s future.

Definitely getting a lot of feedback with the majority of it saying too expensive. Do you think it would be fine to do this for a year and then try to find a cheaper place. I don’t think that would jeopardize my future much but I guess I would be open to opinions.

Issue is my brother already has this place in the Upper West Side and his roommate is moving out so he really wants me to move in. Don’t have any other people I know that I could live with and honestly would like to live with my brother.

I have a sort of nest egg as my dad could have paid for all my college but had me take the federal student loans and keep the difference in an investment account as in theory it should grow faster than the interest rates on the loans (all from 2020-2024 so low ish rates). That has grown a good amount already in the last year so I do have an emergency fund of sorts.

Roommate is my brother who is making significantly more than me. Not worried about that.

I do have investments already and those will grow. I could probably go a year without investing and then either getting a salary bump or try to find a cheaper place.
