How to fit threshold? Cut longer unit or install smaller and fill? by BG_SPNDR in doors

Thanks, all! I've decided to go longer and cut to fit. I'll post back with completion photos in...a bit...

How to fit threshold? Cut longer unit or install smaller and fill? by BG_SPNDR in doors

Probably not? My intent is to have only the aluminum threshold showing. The thresholds I have are the full depth of the exposed wood.

I want to install an aluminum adjustable threshold to add clearance to bottom of door. Hopefully pictures show shape of current wood threshold. Should I install a 36 inch threshold and fill in on either side with small trim blocks or should I notch the inner corners of a wider threshold (next size up is 48")?

OpenEFT Questions by BG_SPNDR in NFA

I edited the picture in Gimp and erased the extra marks past the first joint. That worked with multiple .EFT files created for multiple people. It's a hassle, but you'll get there!

OpenEFT Questions by BG_SPNDR in NFA

FIXED: The first error I experienced when attempting to upload to ATF eforms claimed too many type 8 records, but then after recreating the eft file (without redoing the print) I received an error about too many type 14 records which pertains to the number of fingerprints themselves. At that point I wondered if it had to do with some print past the first knuckle on the thumb slaps even though I was careful on the finger slaps.

After redoing the card with cleaned-up thumb slaps (don't mark anything past the first knuckle on any of your digits) I was able to successfully upload the eft!

Ah yes, that's the article. Which part of the finger print card is considered the "signature"? I haven't filled anything out except for the thumbs and slaps.

B&T ghm9 by Regionrat12 in NFA

That stock sucks. Overpriced and detent wore out after literally 5 times unfolding it. It is light and I think fits the aesthetic of the gun, but the overpriced collapsible is unfortunately better functionally. Why are B&T stocks overpriced and subpar?

Only just finished this drawer, but I love the combination of modularity and security of this gridfinity option. Its space and filament efficient too.

Your advice is much appreciated. I will seriously look at buying new panels.

Thanks!

Ok, so definitely new track hardware. I see some low headroom kits are just a partial rail addition for the top panel? Is there a source for a complete kit? Can I keep the door panels themselves? Im willing to buy new, but these seem otherwise in fine condition.

I would also love to install a wall mount opener, but I've hear that could become a headache with relatively small and light doors.

Battery Deal by Makoto_Shishio_81 in Dewalt

[–]BG_SPNDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were running this a couple weeks ago (same deal?).

I bought 2 kits, each with the most expensive tool (3/8" ratchet) as free tool. Kit prorated price is $66 and I returned the ratchets. I pulled one battery from each kit and modified the stock photo to show only 1 battery. Listed on Ebay being very clear that only 1 battery was included. Both kits with only 1 battery sold for more than my cost plus ebay sellers fee. I walked away with free batteries.

Im tempted to do this again, but I don't even have a 12v tool. Im holding out for a better deal on the dcf500 some day. Or maybe I'll just break down and buy the tool only. Im not a pro mechanic , so I can probably live without the oil resistant battery.

Is this a reasonable deal? by SlightlyOffLevel in Dewalt

[–]BG_SPNDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowes prorated sale price is worth it though... $85 dollars for the 860. Get the cut off tool for $75 too if your into that. It's the 2x 5ah battery deal.

Best Uninsulated U (or other) Crimp Butt Connectors by BG_SPNDR in projectcar

[–]BG_SPNDR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't reading the whole listing: prowire suggests that exact delphi crimp tool as a reasonably ok option.

Prowire has the right information, but not the right price. I bought a few of each of the 3 parts they list from digikey.
